The Chosen One Prophecy was an ancient Legend foretold by the Jedi that stated a powerful force sensitive being born of no father will bring balance to the force. When Qui Gon brought Anakin forward to the Jedi council, they discover his powerful gift in the force, and his upbringing as a slave. They are also told he is 9 years old, and lived with his mother, having no father. His attributes ultimately led Qui Gon to wholeheartedly believe he was the chosen one, and so the Council allowed him to be trained by Jinn. Anakin’s circumstances, however, should have alerted the council to train Anakin in a different fashion than that of a traditional Jedi. Anakin was already 9 years old, meaning he had spent years away from the Jedi temple as opposed to being raised there and taught the Jedi Code since birth. This caused him to be susceptible to his emotions, attachments, and reckless behavior. Ultimately, the Jedi’s dogmatic way of viewing the light side led to Anakin’s turn. They had done nothing to cater to the needs of the unique situation of the Chosen One. They did not keep Anakin’s destiny a secret either as he was constantly bullied by his peers for this reason.

If the Jedi council allowed Anakin to slightly embrace what he has already learned outside of the temple (visiting his mother [attachment], learning how to control his emotions, and granted proper respect), he would feel more inclined to understand the wisdom from his master, taking it and applying it to his training. With the Council and Obi Wan restricting him from reaching his maximum potential, he felt betrayed by the Jedi for not preparing him enough to protect the ones he cared about. Out of fear, (which is not an emotion the Jedi should have) the Council and the Order alike prevented Anakin from becoming the most powerful force user. They were too worried about Anakin becoming more powerful when they should have focused on nurturing Anakin instead of indoctrinating him.

Because they failed to nurture Anakin the way Qui Gon would have  (I’ll get to that later), they began to lose faith in Anakin’s destiny. Multiple masters, including Mace Windu and Yoda believed the late Qui Gon’s faith in the prophecy being fulfilled by Anakin was misread, when in reality it was the Council’s fault for mistreating the prophecy, and failing Anakin.

This is what causes Anakin to feel misguided by the Jedi, especially when Palpatine has been giving him the respect he should have been receiving from the Jedi, and being that father figure for him that Qui Gon should have been had he survived. For years Palpatine had pointed out how little the Council let Anakin become involved in certain situations, which he was well deserving of if he had been treated properly. The Council being blinded by politics and war didn’t allow Anakin to grow up in an environment where he could have become the best version of himself. But even so, he could have had 10 years of better treatment before the clone Wars to become a wiser Jedi under his way.

As far as the will of the force goes, I think Anakin was on track to becoming the most powerful Jedi and destroying the sith, but once the will pointed Qui Gon to the direction of death and sacrifice, the plan ultimately changed. Since the Will saw the Jedi’s dogma as an extreme, then Anakin had to experience both extremes of the light and the dark to truly bring balance. The prophecy adapted to Anakin’s circumstance after the Jedi betrayed him.  And after Palpatine betrayed him as well, he had to endure this life he chose for himself until his Son could save him it.

I know I said I would get to something related to Qui Gon, but I realized its a story that’s way too long and veers away from the point I was trying to make for this post. so I will talk about that in my next one.
