Star Wars TheoryDespite being a stagnant character throughout season 1 and 2, Echo is still one of my favorite members of the bad batch. I’m glad that he ended up with the Bad Batch as shown in Clone Wars season 7, and that he ultimately survived the explosion from the Citadel arc. Echo always wants to go where he feels he belongs, so it was fitting that he chose to join the Bad Batch and then (spoilers) joins Rex in his effort to rally clones and fight for his brothers. Choosing to go with the Bad was probably the best possible thing he could have done in that situation. Had he ended up staying with Rex and the 501st, who knows what would’ve happened to him during Order 66 since he couldn’t enact it without his chip. When the order was given, he was surrounded by other clones (besides the regs fighting alongside Kanan and Depa Billaba) that were not affected by the command (since their whole purpose is to be less prone to following orders, expressing creativity and individuality; to be useful on the battlefield with their enhanced abilities). I won’t discredit the moments where Echo is seen making small progression in his character though. In the episode where they visit Sorreno, Echo teaches Omega a valuable lesson about letting go of expendable things like treasure and what they came there to steal. It was a matter of living or pursuing something silly in that case and dying in the process. I might add that Echo was also the only member of TBB that actually served under a legion of clones and actively took part in several missions assigned by the Republic. TBB also went on many missions as well, but likely not as often as a traditional clone (or former arc trooper in this case). He’s shown his knowledge on the Clone Wars a few times, and a hint of his military experience which I like. It’s cool to see how Echo becomes a key functioning member of the team and shows his intuition in knowing where he’s needed most. In spite of all this, I’m really scared to see what they do with his character going forward. I hope that (spoilers) they aren’t going the route of picking off the team one by one starting with Tech. I hope that in the next season we can see that same treatment of character development that we saw with Tech in this season (though I hope that won’t mean they will kill him off right after). Echo is the last member of domino squad left. If they kill him off, it’ll be a devastating blow to the fan base and personally something I’m not ready for. Everyone for a time thought that Echo was long dead during the Clone Wars, so I don’t know what an onscreen death for him would look like. It’s something I don’t even like to imagine. Over the course of this season (despite having some filler and excess that could’ve been left out like S1) I’ve grown really attached to the whole team, and Tech was a hard supposed death to see unfold. Let me know what kind of fate you see playing out for the rest of the crew in Season 3 of The Bad Batch. Thanks for reading and remember, the force will be with you always!Apr 1, 2023
Star Wars Theory
Star Wars TheoryI’m sure we’re all well aware of the story of Obi Wan from front to back, but if you really analyze everything this man has been through, you begin to realize how strong he is emotionally.
He ends up losing his master way too soon in his arms
he is given the immense task of training the Chosen One
his love interest dies in his arms, killed by the same person who killed his master
His apprentice (and practically brother) is lost to the dark side seemingly forever (until Luke comes into the picture)
He has to sever the limbs of his former apprentice to show him what arrogance can result in.
He has to watch Vader burn, not having the strength to kill someone he holds so dear to (which, in retrospect, is kind of counterintuitive with their relationship of almost being brothers instead of master and apprentice, when the Jedi explain not to form attachment and embrace feelings. The Jedi are a mess).
Never once did Obi Wan consider joining the dark side. After all the traumas he experienced, he chose to remain true to his heart. And that’s what exemplifies a true light side user. Not even just categorized as a Jedi. Was he at fault for training Anakin improperly, absolutely. Was it his fault for not being ready to train Anakin, of course not. Had Obi been given more time and wisdom with Qui Gon, things would have been different. Jun 24, 2022
Star Wars TheoryAfter slicing open Vader’s mask and damaging his respirator, Vader and Obi Wan exchange dialogue, where Vader tells Kenobi that Anakin’s gone, and Obi apologizes to him for everything. What stuck out to me though was when Vader said “I am not your failure, Obi Wan. You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker….I did.” Vader takes the credit for becoming the sith he is now, even though Obi Wan was the one that led him to become Darth Vader. Yes, Anakin’s actions to become Vader were his own decision. But it was never Anakin’s fault for feeling the way he did towards the council, towards Obi Wan, and towards the Order. If you want to find out my take on how Anakin was treated as the chosen one, go to one of my most recent posts where it talks about the chosen one prophecy being mistreated.
Obi Wan simply wasn’t the right fit for Anakin in terms of being a mentor. The knowledge he learned from Qui Gon was minimal, which meant Obi taught Anakin everything he could, and the rest was up to Anakin to decide. Lacking the proper relationship of father and son instead of brother and brother was ultimately the disconnect between the two. The most heartbreaking part is Vader blaming himself for killing Anakin when it was Obi’s fault for failing Anakin in certain departments that the Jedi were not in control of, nor did they believe it was right to partake in anything Anakin was doing. After their conversation, I definitely think Kenobi felt somewhat relieved that he apologized, and at least tried to see if Anakin was still in there under the mask. When realizing his friend is truly dead (in his eyes), he leaves Vader to suffer in his injuries (Kenobi probably in hopes of him dying this time so that his pain ends). And now we finally see where Obi gets his narrative of Vader killing Anakin when telling Luke in A New Hope. Despite adopting this new narrative, I think throughout his next ten years he held a little bit of guilt, but not to the extent that he did within the first ten years. This was his way of coping with his mistakes, and being hopeful for the future through Luke. That’s why we see the promise and optimism in Alex Guinness as Obi Wan. He likely meditated often after confronting Vader and spoke frequently to Qui Gon to learn how to become a compass for Luke and learning how to manifest his being in the force as Qui Gon had in order to put that to use when it was time to guide Luke.
I would go as far as saying that Anakin died in that moment of decision where Mace and Palpatine are fighting one another for the favor of Anakin to make the right choice. It’s difficult to describe in writing, but Anakin’s facial expression changes at a certain point in that scene showing he has made the choice of saving Palpatine, in attempts to save his wife. That choice of subconsciously pledging to the ways of the dark side by assisting in the murder of another person (I say another because The Tuskans and Dooku were the first). It would be interesting to see how Qui Gon feels about Anakin’s fate now compared to when he last spoke of him. Is his sentiment toward the chosen one the same? Is it different now that Luke has a chance at saving the galaxy? Do both Obi and Qui Gon believe Luke to be the Chosen One, since we hear Obi acknowledge that Luke is the chosen one (again, in his eyes) when Maul’s asks him as he dies.
Just a ton of questions and brainstorming that go through my brain when it comes to lore. Glad I can discuss and share my take on certain things in a space that welcomes anything and everything Star Wars. Grateful for everyone that reads my content, and may the force be with you. Jun 23, 2022

Star Wars Theory
Star Wars TheoryWhile I was writing up my post about the Chosen one prophecy, I started writing about how I felt Qui Gon would have trained Anakin had he survived his duel against Maul, so this is what I ended up writing: If Qui Gon lived to train Anakin, it’s possible Jinn would not approve of the way Anakin was being taught amongst other younglings, and the way the Jedi started to become political figures and soldiers instead of keepers of the peace after the Clone Wars begins. I think he would take it upon himself to train Anakin outside of the temple (meaning walking away from the order completely) and slowly blossoming Anakin to his potential through means the Order would not use. It would be cool if Qui Gon sensed something odd about Palpatine prior to leaving the Order, and instructing Obi Wan to keep a close eye on the Chancellor.
Once Qui Gon felt Anakin was wise and strong enough to bring balance and destroy the sith, he would bring him back to the Order to search for the hidden sith and aid the Jedi in the war (even though Qui Gon did not approve of the ongoing war, they had to end it in order to find the remaining sith). By this point I think Palpatine would have a new apprentice ( not really sure who, maybe Dooku or Ventress since Maul would have ended up dying in a storyline where Qui Gon survives [or Obi could just cut him in half again in their duel, but not the point] ). He has a new apprentice that has been serving him throughout the CW. So whoever the apprentice is has to encounter Anakin and he tries to find out if this is the sith they’ve been looking for or if it’s another assassin/apprentice. He fails to find out from this person, until Palpatine discards his apprentice in an attempt to persuade Anakin to the dark side. Of course, Anakin is a different man under the training of Qui Gon and picks up on his feeble remarks and starts connecting the dots. Master Kenobi (now training Ahsoka since Anakin wasn’t present on the battle of Cristophsis to take Ahsoka as his padawan) tells Anakin of Palpatine’s suspicious demeanor towards the Council, seeming to want to be in office for longer than his term. To keep it short, Anakin confronts Palpatine with the other Jedi Masters (yes, he would be considered a master finally) and Palpatine would be defeated. Anakin finds his love interest in Padmè once again with Qui Gon allowing Anakin to embrace his attachment. He would raise his two children, Luke and Leia outside of the order with Him and Qui Gon being their mentors and living a free life with his wife away from the Order. It still took the Order years to realize it’s faults under the clone wars with politics. It is Only when Qui Gon returns to teach them about their mistakes do they finally revert back to the ways of the old Jedi where they were not restrained by harsh Dogma.
Realistically, Palpatine would have Qui Gon assassinated in some way before he leaves the order to train Anakin. Sheev would do anything in his power to influence the chosen one to do his own bidding. But I really enjoyed coming up with this alternate timeline where Qui Gon lived to train the chosen one. I will start working on Rewriting Kenobi from the very beginning soon as promised. Thank you guys for all your support on all of my posts. Very much appreciated. Jun 20, 2022
Star Wars TheoryThe Chosen One Prophecy was an ancient Legend foretold by the Jedi that stated a powerful force sensitive being born of no father will bring balance to the force. When Qui Gon brought Anakin forward to the Jedi council, they discover his powerful gift in the force, and his upbringing as a slave. They are also told he is 9 years old, and lived with his mother, having no father. His attributes ultimately led Qui Gon to wholeheartedly believe he was the chosen one, and so the Council allowed him to be trained by Jinn. Anakin’s circumstances, however, should have alerted the council to train Anakin in a different fashion than that of a traditional Jedi. Anakin was already 9 years old, meaning he had spent years away from the Jedi temple as opposed to being raised there and taught the Jedi Code since birth. This caused him to be susceptible to his emotions, attachments, and reckless behavior. Ultimately, the Jedi’s dogmatic way of viewing the light side led to Anakin’s turn. They had done nothing to cater to the needs of the unique situation of the Chosen One. They did not keep Anakin’s destiny a secret either as he was constantly bullied by his peers for this reason. If the Jedi council allowed Anakin to slightly embrace what he has already learned outside of the temple (visiting his mother [attachment], learning how to control his emotions, and granted proper respect), he would feel more inclined to understand the wisdom from his master, taking it and applying it to his training. With the Council and Obi Wan restricting him from reaching his maximum potential, he felt betrayed by the Jedi for not preparing him enough to protect the ones he cared about. Out of fear, (which is not an emotion the Jedi should have) the Council and the Order alike prevented Anakin from becoming the most powerful force user. They were too worried about Anakin becoming more powerful when they should have focused on nurturing Anakin instead of indoctrinating him.
Because they failed to nurture Anakin the way Qui Gon would have (I’ll get to that later), they began to lose faith in Anakin’s destiny. Multiple masters, including Mace Windu and Yoda believed the late Qui Gon’s faith in the prophecy being fulfilled by Anakin was misread, when in reality it was the Council’s fault for mistreating the prophecy, and failing Anakin. This is what causes Anakin to feel misguided by the Jedi, especially when Palpatine has been giving him the respect he should have been receiving from the Jedi, and being that father figure for him that Qui Gon should have been had he survived. For years Palpatine had pointed out how little the Council let Anakin become involved in certain situations, which he was well deserving of if he had been treated properly. The Council being blinded by politics and war didn’t allow Anakin to grow up in an environment where he could have become the best version of himself. But even so, he could have had 10 years of better treatment before the clone Wars to become a wiser Jedi under his way. As far as the will of the force goes, I think Anakin was on track to becoming the most powerful Jedi and destroying the sith, but once the will pointed Qui Gon to the direction of death and sacrifice, the plan ultimately changed. Since the Will saw the Jedi’s dogma as an extreme, then Anakin had to experience both extremes of the light and the dark to truly bring balance. The prophecy adapted to Anakin’s circumstance after the Jedi betrayed him. And after Palpatine betrayed him as well, he had to endure this life he chose for himself until his Son could save him it. I know I said I would get to something related to Qui Gon, but I realized its a story that’s way too long and veers away from the point I was trying to make for this post. so I will talk about that in my next one. Star Wars Theory
Star Wars TheoryJudging by some of the leaks that tell us we’ll be getting an hour and a half for the last episode, it seems like they will cover much more than we originally thought. From what I can infer from episode 5, I don’t think the ship they used to escape will make it far. If I remember correctly, the hyperdrive doesn’t work on the ship anymore, meaning the empire is sure to catch up to them and Vader will finally have Kenobi at his fingertips again. At this point I believe Obi Wan has to surrender to Vader, otherwise he’ll jeopardize the lives of everyone on the ship, and he definitely doesn’t want that. After losing Tala we see how much these pre-rebellion fighters mean to Kenobi and how willing he is to care for those in need as we see him carry multiple injured fighters away from the crossfire. Prior to this, his mindset on Tatooine was to “stay hidden” and avoid any intervention with even the most desperate people. We see this primarily with his encounter with Nari, the late Jedi who came looking for him. Another possibility to Obi Wan escaping Vader’s grasp again would be Bail’s fleet of ships coming to aid him against imperial capture as cover for him to escape. However, it may be too early for Bail to have amassed an army to combat the empire. My final, and least likely theory would be Reva coming to rescue him from whatever type of imprisonment Vader is keeping him in. I believe it to be the least likely outcome as we see at the end of the episode how she’s now fully aware of Luke’s presence on Tatooine being taken care of by Owen. It’s possible that this might be her main priority to arrive on Tatooine, even though I feel like it wouldn’t be right to have her find Luke as no one should know of Luke’s heritage or existence. We see that Kenobi feels this disturbance of Reva’s discovery at the end of the episode. If that were to play out where she finds Luke, Obi would have to be there. As far as a final duel between Vader and Obi, it’s almost guaranteed. And based off the first concept art they used to advertise Kenobi in the beginning, I think it will be another Mustafar duel. I will add that It would be appropriate to have all the conflicts resolved first before we get to the last duel. Leia makes it home safely, Luke is kept safe away from any danger, and then Reva’s story finally coming to an end. Finally, Obi Wan will come to the conclusion that he can bring Anakin back to the light after Reva asking if he really wants Anakin dead. This is where we finally reach the anticipated duel that Kathleen, Ewan, and Hayden have been teasing. Vader will have definitely learned a valuable lesson after this duel, no doubt. It’s obvious that we see signs of Anakin coming out through Vader through their confrontation in the third episode, and I think after this last episode, Vader will be sure of who he is. With the third episode, his dialogue reveals that he is not letting go of his past traumas that he blames Obi Wan for causing, which is why I say Anakin comes out through Vader when he meets Kenobi again. It will be interesting to see if Vader will start to experience regret or conflicted emotions when Obi tries to bring him back, or if he stays rooted in his dark side path. Possibly even having an Ahsoka moment from Rebels where the real Anakin comes out briefly, only for Vader to return with immense anger and hate. It’s really exciting to brainstorm what might happen with so much time to work with on this episode. Can’t wait to see what actually ends up happening next week. Jun 17, 2022

Star Wars TheoryAt the end of the last episode, we see Obi Wan is hurt pretty bad by the burns Vader gave him, and luckily NED-B, the loader droid, was able to carry him away to safety. Then we see Reva kidnapping Leia again (not really sure why) but I don’t think she’ll be held captive for long. As Kenobi heals, I would love to see some kind of flashbacks of the clone wars or even moments between Anakin and him that were never seen in the films. Then it will cut away to Obi having nightmares of Anakin burning on Mustafar and seeing him in the suit as Vader in his most recent encounter. The words Vader spoke will echo in his visions/nightmares: “I am what you made me”. This guilt of contributing to the creation Vader will linger with Obi Wan for a bit I think even after he is healed. He will fester in his sorrow a little while longer until he realizes what he feels is his duty: To try bringing the chosen one back to the light. I think once Obi Wan realizes he can’t bring Vader back, he will determine in his mind that Luke is the chosen one. Before he can confront Vader again, though, he would have to try rescuing Leia again (unless Vader orders Reva to release her and send her back to Alderaan). It might anger Vader seeing Reva kidnap Leia for the second time without good reason. I feel like if we get dialogue from Qui Gon (which I almost guarantee we will), his wisdom might not be what Obi Wan wants to hear. There’s a possibility of a disagreement or an argument to come about between the two. Since Qui Gon did not like to interfere with the will of the force, it’s likely that he will tell Obi Wan that Vader’s fate is for the force to decide. Kenobi will disagree with this statement, instead wanting to bring back Anakin to the light. It would be nice to see Obi refer back to Padmè’s last words saying that there was still good in him. From this point, I think we will see Obi Wan trying to relearn his skills with a lightsaber and maybe even using the combat remote Luke uses in A New Hope. It’s also possible that he could not pick up his lightsaber from Mepuzo since he had to be carried away, so that could open the door to him using Anakin’s lightsaber (only making Vader’s rage more ruthless). Everything will lead up to their final confrontation where Vader’s line will finally make sense. Jun 5, 2022
