Judging by some of the leaks that tell us we’ll be getting an hour and a half for the last episode, it seems like they will cover much more than we originally thought. From what I can infer from episode 5, I don’t think the ship they used to escape will make it far. If I remember correctly, the hyperdrive doesn’t work on the ship anymore, meaning the empire is sure to catch up to them and Vader will finally have Kenobi at his fingertips again. At this point I believe Obi Wan has to surrender to Vader, otherwise he’ll jeopardize the lives of everyone on the ship, and he definitely doesn’t want that. After losing Tala we see how much these pre-rebellion fighters mean to Kenobi and how willing he is to care for those in need as we see him carry multiple injured fighters away from the crossfire. Prior to this, his mindset on Tatooine was to “stay hidden” and avoid any intervention with even the most desperate people. We see this primarily with his encounter with Nari, the late Jedi who came looking for him.

Another possibility to Obi Wan escaping Vader’s grasp again would be Bail’s fleet of ships coming to aid him against imperial capture as cover for him to escape. However, it may be too early for Bail to have amassed an army to combat the empire.

My final, and least likely theory would be Reva coming to rescue him from whatever type of imprisonment Vader is keeping him in. I believe it to be the least likely outcome as we see at the end of the episode how she’s now fully aware of Luke’s presence on Tatooine being taken care of by Owen. It’s possible that this might be her main priority to arrive on Tatooine, even though I feel like it wouldn’t be right to have her find Luke as no one should know of Luke’s heritage or existence. We see that Kenobi feels this disturbance of Reva’s discovery at the end of the episode. If that were to play out where she finds Luke, Obi would have to be there.

As far as a final duel between Vader and Obi, it’s almost guaranteed. And based off the first concept art they used to advertise Kenobi in the beginning, I think it will be another Mustafar duel. I will add that It would be appropriate to have all the conflicts resolved first before we get to the last duel. Leia makes it home safely, Luke is kept safe away from any danger, and then Reva’s story finally coming to an end. Finally, Obi Wan will come to the conclusion that he can bring Anakin back to the light after Reva asking if he really wants Anakin dead.

This is where we finally reach the anticipated duel that Kathleen, Ewan, and Hayden have been teasing. Vader will have definitely learned a valuable lesson after this duel, no doubt. It’s obvious that we see signs of Anakin coming out through Vader through their confrontation in the third episode, and I think after this last episode, Vader will be sure of who he is. With the third episode, his dialogue reveals that he is not letting go of his past traumas that he blames Obi Wan for causing, which is why I say Anakin comes out through Vader when he meets Kenobi again. It will be interesting to see if Vader will start to experience regret or conflicted emotions when Obi tries to bring him back, or if he stays rooted in his dark side path. Possibly even having an Ahsoka moment from Rebels where the real Anakin comes out briefly, only for Vader to return with immense anger and hate. It’s really exciting to brainstorm what might happen with so much time to work with on this episode. Can’t wait to see what actually ends up happening next week.
