After replaying Jedi Fallen Order, I thought about a something interesting that is not pointed out too often. We know Merrin was one of the only night sisters to survive through the Jedi Purge. She explains how an armored warrior (being Grievous) brandishing a lightsaber descended upon her people and cut them down. There are still a good amount of night brothers left five years after Order 66, so what happened to the rest of them from that point in Fallen Order to the point Ezra and Maul go back to Dathomir to perform night sister magic? Maul is assuring to Ezra when he says he is “unfortunately the last survivor”. 
Also, did Maul ever encounter Merrin when revisiting Dathomir? I’m aware Dathomir is a large planet with different segments, but I wouldn’t deem it impossible for other force users and night sister magic users to sense one another on the planet. Even Malicos was on the planet, so it makes me wonder if any of these characters ever happened to find Maul. I’m sure Merrin knew who Maul was despite being young when Maul was found by Savage. We also don’t know where Maul goes after fleeing from the Venator in CW Season 7. I feel like the only place he knew where to go when in need or in hiding would be his home planet. The first time he did this in need of Mother Talzin, she ended up dying at the hands of Grievous, as Palpatine wanted Maul to regress back to his home world to finally eliminate Mother Talzin.

Maul still has an unexplored background for a good majority of his life that I would love to see them use. Whether it’d be flashbacks to being trained by Sidious, or his crime syndicate leading up to Solo. But anyway let me know if it would be possible for Maul to have known/encountered these people that inhabited Dathomir
