A lightsaber is a symbol for what??

Hey fellas, it's been a while. Says something about the recent state of Star Wars that I gotta come back on here.
I saw Jay (Drunk3PO) cover this in a video and I had a look at the interview myself that Collider recently did with Lesley Headland, and I think overall the interview really just highlights the damage that is done when people like Lesley are hired for these franchises like Star Wars.

In the interview, one of the things they talk about is the bleeding of the crystal in the finale and about lightsabers in general. Now Lesley uses the term “we've” in the following response, and I'm not sure if this is just Lesley, or including James Friend or everyone on the creative team. But, she lets the interviewer finish her thoughts on how she sees lightsabers as a “phallic symbol”, to which Lesley responds with “Exactly”.

Now I know it wasn't Lesley herself that uses the term, but to turn a lightsaber into something sexual seems very extreme, and if that's not what she was trying to say, she would have given an alternative word of what she was trying to get at. So the fact that Lesley is in agreeance, or at least not in disagreement with the interviewer, quiet heavily suggests that Lesley's line of thinking was not too far off. There has been a fair bit of talk about everything being sexualised in The Acolyte, but this probably takes the cake for me.
As I said at the start, it's times like these that prove that these showrunners, writers or actors shouldn't be hired. They're activists rather than creators trying to push their own agendas ahead of telling captivating stories that continue George's legacy.
I'm not even sure if this was just an attempt to make Star Wars more “adult friendly” like what Andor apparently was, which, to be honest, I don't mind then aiming towards with some shows. But sexualising a lightsaber isn't making something “more for grown ups”, it's completely misinterpreting the franchise, and as I said before, pushing your own agenda into the Star Wars universe.
But the lightsaber for me will continue to be a symbol of the Jedi and peace and connection to the force.
Thanks for reading lads.
