Arihnda Pryce versus Mara Jade
I was reading the Star Wars: Thrawn book, and I was curious about something, does Arihnda Pryce from this book seem more relatable than the version in Rebels? I feel like the book version seems more like a human that I can pity versus the Rebels TV series. I can feel her hurt at the betrayal and how it calluses her and makes her cynical and hard hearted. There was one scene in particular where she met Thrawn at a gala event. I can't help but wonder . . . Would Mara Jade know her, or have know about her? Do you think Mara Jade would have thought bad about Arihnda or would she pity her? Both women had a hard life. Both served the Empire and actively fought the Rebellion or worked to thwart the Rebels. But Mara Jade wasn't working for her own political gain like Arihnda. Do you think Mara could have met her before Price died? Would Price have had respect for Mara if Price had met her and if she knew Mara was the Emporer's Hand? What are your thoughts on these two women. I still like Mara Jade better, but I feel pity and understanding regarding Arihnda Pryce turning out the way she did with having no real moral compass like Mara Jade seemed to have.

Favorite Legends Author
Ok, so we know Disney writers have been lacking and now I am curious... Which writers from The Expanded Universe is your favorite. Or if you are like me, and have multiple, who is at the top. I think my top three would be Timothy Zahn, Claudia Gray, and James Lucerno. Which books were your favorite?

Animation continuity error on recent Bad Batch, and my thoughts on the episode. SPOILERS
So I want to preface this with a spoiler warning. This is in regards to the fourth episode of The Bad Batch. I thought it was a good episode and it felt fun and tense. My continuity error I noticed was by accident. I wasn't looking for mistakes or issues. But I noticed that as the cargo ship was getting ready to take off, Crosshair ran up the boarding ramp and fired some shots back. He then got shots fired at him and hitting the ramp and the ship so he enters the ship and retracts the boarding ramp. Ramp closes. Scene is now in the cockpit and they are starting the repulsers and reving up the engines to lift off out of the port. Scene changes to exterior shot as the cargo ship takes off, and what do I see? The ramp that Crosshair closed as he entered the ship was fully extended and then started to retract. Just noticed it was closed, then fully opened again, and then closing completely. I only noticed it by mistake cause I was thinking that Han would have yelled for the ship to blast off as he shoots back to the stormtroopers before closing the hatch and retracting the ramp and then running to the cockpit as the ship is already accelerating from the spaceport. I apologize if you notice it too now. At least it isn't as bad as blue jean guy in the Mandalorian. lol My thoughts on the episode: The fact that Crosshair starts to let himself follow Omega's lead and assist in helping others, albeit reluctantly, is a nice character arc. We know we want him to be the good guy, and having the Empire betray him and imprison him causes him to doubt his training. To doubt the Empire. And to have Omega rescue him after all he has done to her and the others brings some light into his dark heart. The ending was the best cliffhanger. We don't know if Crosshair will stay with Omega or take off in that cargo ship. After all, there has to be a way to deactivate the transponder and tracking beacons.

Bad Batch Season 3 thoughts and spoilers
Just finished watching the first three episodes of Bad Batch Season 3. < SPOILERS BELOW> This will be my summary and my own feelings and opinions on these episodes. Spoilers ahead so do not read until you watch the 3 premiere episodes Warning: Contains Spoilers Should be far enough down. Ok, so The first episode at first seemed to have redundant scenes. The same few scenes of Omega doing the same thing. But the tally marks and the variations on her daily activities, and the fact that it was repetitive really drove home the feeling that time passed slowly and monotonously. I actually enjoyed watching it and feeling the drag of being a "prisoner" in all but name. Really gave me the feeling of her being bored, lonely, hopeful, and determined to escape. Really liked seeing the actions Omega took with Batcher, the interactions with Nala Se, and how Omega still sees Crosshair as redeemable. She gives me the feeling that she is optimistic and hopeful and would make a good rebel or new republic diplomat. Episode two was interesting. I want to know what the planet of the lab was, and why it was destroyed, and what it was experimenting on. The Slither vine monster made me think of the Watcher in the Water from the Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Overall a fun episode, but would have liked to perhaps see more of the process of getting the details of Hemlock's labs, but this was still good. Hope the young clones can be seen or referenced to in the future. Episode three was dramatic. I was pleased to have the visitor arrive. The drama of the centrifuge turning as each sample gets analyzed was appreciated. This was a tense and almost stressful episode and I appreciated the way it made me think and feel. I wonder what the experiments were about and why the M-count mattered. I wish it were in regards to Joruus C'baoth or perhaps a clone from the hand of Luke. An evil Luke from Dark Empire or Luuke would be a surprise to unveil, but most likely it will just end up being Snoke or the Emperor's clone. I wonder if the cloning chambers are the Spaarti Cloning Chambers? I hope so cause that would be a link to Heir to the Empire Trilogy, which is one of my all-time favorite Star Wars books. I do have one idea that most likely is just my over imagination. I imagine the Visitor would have sensed something wrong when they shot Emerie, but there was no sign of intense emotion and no deaths so I suppose there may not have been a disturbance in the force to detect, and I guess that there would have been no reason to extend one's force sense to scan and monitor the entire facility. Which means my imagination is just doing what the Emperor would have desired: cause fear and over estimate his power to the point where I probably would have been caught or given myself away with my emotions. I am pleased with this season so far, and look forward to seeing if the remaining episodes are as fun and interesting. Let me know your thoughts on these three episodes.

Crucible: The last book in the Legends timeline
I found the book Crucible to be a nice way to end the Star Wars Legends series, since it ties in with the events of the previous series of books. The plot is one of evil masterminds trying to take over the galaxy, naturally. The cast includes the big names like Han, Leia, Luke, Lando, and others from previous adventures, and new faces. Lando's mining operation is in trouble. (Lando's operations always seem to be mining, except his weapons manufacturing company Tendrano Arms, named after himself and his wife Tendra, which built battle droids for the war against the Yuuzhan Vong.) Han and Leia are investigating Lando's complaint of pirates as a favor to their old friend, when trouble finds them. A dangerous escapade and a series of unfortunate events bring the Skywalker/Solo trio together again. There are mandolorian mercenaries, lizard-like creatures called Nargons, Aliens known as Columi (which in my mind look like Modok from Marvel, but with a hover suit I imagine to have droid like capabilities) and an old enemy of the Skywalkers. Plots and sinister schemes keep the Solos busy and in danger, while the layer beneath the plots and schemes eventually will bring about the destruction of the Skywalkers, the Solos, Lando, and his operation . . . at least if there weren't any complications. But the odds of the Columi plans failing are astronomical! At least over. . . "Never tell me the odds!" At least that's what Han Solo tells himself. Odds don't look good when you are in danger though. The location of Solo and the escape from that Columi operation center is a place of raw force power. And may or may not be related to a famous force location. There is even time for a game of Sabacc, but not the friendly kind. Power and intellect against luck and the force. There can only be one winner. Explosions, dittos, and injuries can't stop Luke and Leia from uncovering the truth and defeating the two evil geniuses. After the adventure ends, Luke realizes that he cannot be responsible for every Jedi and every action for the rest of his life. He is shown that life needs balance and that he needs to rest and take time away to ensure he is balanced as well as keeping the force in balance. It ends with the Solos and Luke together with friends and family finally taking a much needed time away from galactic politics and events. Finally, they can get a vacation. And that's how this final book of the Legends timeline ends: with the three main protagonists of the original trilogy and their friends sitting together. At peace. At rest. At balance. And all enjoying time with family and friends in that galaxy far, far away.

The Fate of the Jedi books
I just finished the Fate of the Jedi series of books. I found the various powers Luke learns interesting. I find it nice that some of those powers, which could have been an easy way to get things done, were not over used. I just wonder sometimes if there was a need to learn them if he never used them again. For example, Luke learns the Force Judgement like power of Plo Koon and learns to channel lightning/electricity. He uses that power on the way into the Maw to guide and direct the electrical ion storm around the Jade Shadow, but the next time they enter the Maw it is never used. Now, one reason could be that the first time they entered, Sinkhole Station was still intact and Abeloth hadn't escaped yet, but one has to wonder why there is no explanation how the Sith entered without that training. (Yes Sith have force lightning. But this technique Luke used was referred to as lightning rod because if you do it wrong, you call the electricity to you and fry yourself.) Then there is the power of teleportation. Luke learns that power and teleports Ben's shock stick weapon from Ben into his own hand. Luke never uses this power again. The main power, if you can even call it a power, that Luke learns is Mindwalking. This is just a different form of meditation. This appears to pull the user's conscience out of the body into the force itself. Luke uses this power on three occasions. First, when he learns it. Second, when they need to find Abeloth with the Sith. Third, when Luke is going to fight Abeloth in the force realm. I actually am glad that some of these force powers were only used when they were learned because it would have been too easy to force teleport lightsabers and weapons out of the enemy hand, or force teleport a thermal detonator into the enemy's rank before they can even detect your force telekinesis floating it or pulling it. I think of Doctor Who and how they made his sonic screwdriver basically a scientific magic wand that can do anything. These powers could become like that sonic screwdriver, but they didn't let it become over done. I just wish they would have written Luke saying something about not relying on your force powers or that how the easy, quick way may not always be the best, or that you shouldn't use the force like a tool but let the force guide and flow through you. That way we can see an in universe answer to why these powers never show up again. But what are your thought on the powers and abilities Luke and the Jedi learn throughout this era of books, including the Fate of the Jedi series? Do you think Luke could have used them more, or that there should have been a reason never to have mentioned them again after learning them?

Samuel Kim Appreciation
I just love to listen to Star Wars music by John Williams, but sometimes I like to change things up. That's why I love listening to Samuel Kim's arrangements and compositions! He does such an amazing job!!! Here is one of my favorite Star Wars pieces, Across the Stars, arranged and composed in a Medieval style. I hope you enjoy it music as much as I do!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
So in honor of Mother's Day, I would like to say thank you to all the moms out there. You are a blessing! You are special! And I thank each of the mothers out there for all your hard work, sacrifice, and time! I have three Star Wars women that pop into my mind when I think of Star Wars moms. The first would be Padme Amidala. She had a hard life and never got to fully appreciate being a kid since she was a queen at such a young age. Her relationship with Anakin was full of stress and strain. But she was faithful and stuck with him through his good and bad. I think, had she not died, she would have had a major impact on the twins, and the future of the Jedi may have been different. Perhaps even Anakin's redemption may have been sooner? The second mom I think of is Leia Organa Solo. I especially love her concern for her children and her resolve to do right no matter what. Her portayal in Heir to the Empire was awesome! She was caring and empathetic to others. The last Star Wars mother I think of is actually the first we see. Her name is Shmi Skywalker. Her story is tragic. Even though she has the worst backstory of the three, I actually feel more for her than I do for the others. She was willing to let her young son go, never to see him again if that meant he could have a chance at a better life and follow his dreams. I always get emotional at her goodbye to Anakin. She is such a key individual who could have changed the entire Star Wars galaxy if only Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would have cared more about people and would have tried harder to free her. It is a sweet, yet heartbreaking moment, and she manages to keep composed for her son's sake. Only a mother could hide her own pain to be brave for her children. That is why she is special to me. Who is your favorite Star Wars mom?

Watercolor advice
So I am starting to dabble in painting, and got some watercolor paint. But I don't know how I am supposed to actually use it. I tried painting with it by mixing it with water, but I don't know if I need to let each layer dry before continuing on because it seems to mix together. I ended up using it more like acrylic paint instead. lol. My goal would be to paint backgrounds of Star Wars planets or scenes in the future. If you have any tips or advice for using watercolors correctly, please let me know. I can use any help. I don't know anyone who paints with watercolor. Thank you!

Master and Apprentice book review
So I have just finished the audio book Master and Apprentice. Here are my thoughts in a brief, non-spoiler nutshell. I really loved the way it brought out the conflict between Qui-Gon and the Jedi order. Also the relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan was really well written. I thoroughly enjoyed the "before" segments where we get to look into Qui-Gon's past. I loved getting to hear and experience the young Qui-Gon's life and lessons he learned. His memories brought to life. It made him that much more intriguing. The whole plot was rather refreshing and the ending was quite unforgettable!!! I definitely recommend checking this book out, and, if you can get the Audible version, dew it! It has Star Wars music and sound effects that make it like a movie without a video! But what are your thoughts on this book? Have you read it? What did you think? Let me know what book I should read next! I have already read some, so I can give you my thoughts on them if you would like to hear them. - Cover artistsJama Jurabaev (Cover art for convention exclusive) - Alice X.
