Great opinion piece. Of the alternatives listed I'm quite biased as I'm a major Qui-Gon Jin fan ever since the Phantom Menace. Seeing Qui-Gon come back into a new storyline, after mastering the force to appear in phantom form, for the purpose of training the next generation of jedi would just be too much to handle for this fan.

Though I do agree that Luke is a great choice I prefer my personal favourite. Any other thoughts for alternatives?
