We know that the clone army was created specifically for the republic and were grown to be docile and loyal. Imagine if they had done just that.

The cloning facilities were by far the best as far as we know with regards to the quality of clones they produced. Knowing this it is safe to assume that the clones there were both mentally and physically capable. Complete with strategy, game theory, rationality, hierarchy and political understanding for serving the republic, along with their military training.

Given these cognitive abilities and understanding I think it would be possible to theorize that after the events of order 66 and Palpatines rise to basic dictatorship that the clone troopers would have began to see the collapse of the republic they were meant to serve.

Had the clone troopers decided not to serve at the whim of the power driven supreme chancellor then we might have seen Palpatine retreat to the shadows.

Which would set the scene for the restoration of the republic with the entire galactic senate having a voice once more. All due to the loyalty of the clone army to a political ideology over a ruler. I for one would love to see a theory on this type of senario.
