Do the trilogies last just around the movies or does it extend beyond them? 

Is The Clone Wars a part of the PT? Is Rebels a part of the OT?

I have always thought these boundaries were vague and even overlapped a bit. On a timeline, I would imagine them to go edge to edge, but where the border is exactly, I couldn’t tell you. 

I have always thought of the OT as being the time of the Empire and would end not after RotJ, but after all the tiny fractions of the Empire that remained after the Battle of Endor were destroyed. So up until about the battle of Jakku. 

I have always thought the PT begins when the Jedi start to get far too entangled in the politics of the Senate, perhaps around the time of TPM. It would end around the time of the fall of the Jedi, so RotS.
