Today marks Joe Johnston's birthday! He was a storyboard artist, actor, film director, illustrator and author.

He played MANY important parts in the making of a lot of the original Star Wars films, especially through his concept designs. For Star Wars, he served as both a storyboard artist and actor. 

Joe was the one responsible for the design of Boba Fett's armor, working closely with Ralph McQuarrie (another very talented artist).

He also played an Imperial gunner and a spacetrooper in A New Hope.
