Hey everybody, it's been a while since I've posted, but I was talking with some of the boys in the chat and I got an idea for a post, so here we go. In this post, I will be comparing Star Wars blasters to real-life firearms from across the world.
1.) Han Solo's DL-44 is an iconic Star Wars blaster, but it is inspired by a real-life pistol called the German Mauser C96 pistol. It is a semi-automatic pistol that was manufactured from 1896 to 1937. It's a decent pistol. Revolutionary for its time, but obviously now it's outdated. In Star Wars, the German Mauser was chosen because it looked futuristic. During production, they added a scope to make it look even more futuristic.

It was invented and tested in 1944 but was only produced from 1953 to 1988. It had a fire rate of 550 rounds per minute and weighed 6 pounds. In Star Wars, they removed the magazine from the Sterling and glued a bunch of random objects onto it to make it look spacey, and the E-11 blaster was born.

It was also used by bounty hunters for sniping jobs. It was based on the MG34 Submachine Gun. The MG-34 is another German firearm. It was built in 1929, introduced in 1934, and issued to units in 1936. It was an automatic rifle. It was a very good rifle, firing up to 900 rounds per minute! It was used by the Vietcong during the Vietnam War because of its high fire rate. It was also used during World War 2.

It was a rapid-fire blaster and could be used at long ranges. It could also be hooked up to a generator, oddly enough. It was based on the Lewis machine gun. The Lewis Machine Gun was a World War I firearm. It was invented in 1911 by the United States, but oddly enough, it wasn't used there. It was used by British troops during World War I. It weighed 28 pounds and had a fire rate of 600 to 900 rounds per minute.

It was based hilariously enough on a flare gun called the Webley & Scott No. 1 Mk 1 Flare Pistol. The Webley & Scott No. 1 Mk. 1 Flare Pistol was made in 1917. It was a single-shot, break-action flare gun. For those who don't know, a flare gun is a pistol that shoots flares up into the air to signal for help. It was used by the Australian Imperial Force during the First World War.

I made this post in a rush, so if you see any mistakes, please let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading, guys and gals, and may the force be with you always. ✌
