Cindel was the youngest child in the Towani family. Her parents Jeremitt & Catarine Towani, were piloting their family star cruiser home when they crashed on Endor. Leaving Cindel & her older brother Mace, with the crashed ship, the Towani parents struck out to try to find civilization. Unfortunately, they returned to the ship to find the children missing. While out looking for them, the parents were captured by the Giant Gorax. One evening, the Ewok Deej Warrick along with his son's Weechee & Widdle found Cindel & Mace inside the crashed starship. Back at the Ewok village Cindel had became sick & Deej's wife Shodu nursed the young girl back to health with a herbal medicine, soon Cindel became friends with Deej's youngest son Wicket. Impatient & wanting to find his parents, Mace woke Cindel one night & escaped with her through the forest. Unfortunely, the children were attacked by the Gorax's pet Boar Wolf & spent the night in a hollow tree. The next morning Deej & his son's would kill the beast & Mace would find one of his parents life monitors on a collar around the Boar Wolf's neck. With help from Logray the Ewok Shaman, Mace & Cindel learned that their parents were being held captive by the Giant Gorax. Deej, Weechee, Widdle, Wicket, Mace, Cindel, along with the brave Ewok Chuckha Trok, & the Ewok Preistess Kaink made their long trek across the forest moon to the desert of Salma where the Gorax lived. Along the way Cindel had to be rescued from a stampeding Pulga horse by Chuckha-Trok & Wicket had to rescue Mace from a magic pond. Using magic candle given to her by Logray, Cindel helped the fairy-like Wisties get home. At the entrance to the Gorax's castle, Widdle, Wicket, & Cindel stayed behind while the others ventured through the cave. In the battle against the Gorax, Chuckha-Trok was killed, but the parents were freed. Cindel who had come into the caverns herself, almost became a victim of the Gorax, but with a well-aimed throw by Mace using Chuckha-Trok's axe the Gorax fell to his death.

Several months later the Ewok village would come under attack by King Terak & his army of Marauders capturing Cindel along with the Ewoks & killing her family. With help from Deej, Wicket & Cindel escaped into the woods, while running from the Marauders, Cindel & Wicket would take refugee in a cave on a mountainside. Inside the cave there was a Condor Dragon, which captured Cindel using a homemade hangglider he had built, Wicket rescued Cindel & the two of them would spend the night in a hollow tree. The next morning they met Teek who took them to a cottage owned by the old hermit named Noa. Although he initially turned them away, Noa eventually took pity on them & allowed them to stay. One morning, Wicket & Cindel followed Noa in his travels, where they were surprised to find another starship. Noa had crashed on the moon many years earlier ( Noa crashed on Endor during the events of The Phantom Menace), & he needed a crystal oscillator power unit to leave Endor. The next morning, Cindel was captured by the witch Charal, who took her to King Terak's castle. Thinking the crystal oscillator, taken from the Towani ship, was a source of personal power, he demanded that she bring the power back to the unit. When she couldn't, Terak had Cindel thrown in the dungeons with the Ewoks. Noa, Wicket, & Teek sneaked into the castle & rescued Cindel & the Ewoks, taking the power unit with them. Charal had overheard their plans to use the power unit for Noa's ship. Charal led Terak & his army to Noa's ship, where they engaged in a epic battle with the Ewoks. During the battle Terak managed to capture Cindel again, he proposed to trade the child for the power unit. Although Noa tried to dual the mighty king, it was Wickets sharp aim with his slingshot that broke an enchanted ring around Terak's neck. The king turned to stone, & Charal was trapped in the form of a raven, forever. The Marauders fled into the woods, disorganized. Later the Ewoks gathered to say goodbye to Cindel & Noa, Cindel promised Wicket that she would someday return to Endor.

Cindel would travel the Galaxy with Noa for a long time before the old man retired to the Mid Rim. Cindel would eventually settle down on Coruscant & become a journalist. During the Black Fleet Crisis on 16 ABY, Cindel leaked information about the Yevethan attack on polneye, it helped garner public support for the New Republic to intervene.
