So in Rebels, Ahsoka has her iconic and tragic duel with her old mentor, now Darth Vader. We all know the scene. She breaks his helmet and he calls out to her, but it is Anakin's voice, not that of Darth Vader. She says, "I won't leave you! Not this time." They stare at each other and all you can hear is Vader's breathing. "Then you will die!" Vader says as he ignites his blade. I really hope we can get that in live-action but that's beside the point.

The point is that I never understood Ahsoka's line. She didn't leave Anakin, Obi-Wan did that on Mustafar. So what was she talking about?

In Clone Wars, after being falsely accused of bombing the temple, murder, and many other crimes, and seeing how the Jedi are so easily swayed by politics and do not stand with their own, Ahsoka left the order. It was a heartbreaking scene. Anakin so desperately wanted her to stay, but she just couldn't stay with an order that abandoned her.

What I never realized was that Ahsoka was referring to this on Malachor.

Ahsoka was saying she would be there for him this time. She didn't know this, but she was saying that she wasn't there when Anakin needed her most. If she was still in the order, Ahsoka may have been able to save her. He always had issues with Obi-Wan and was mad at him, but he cared for Ahsoka so much. She may have been able to get through to him. She was saying that she abanded him and left him to deal with everything alone. But she was there for him. She would stick with him. She wasn't going to walk away. She was there to help him. Ahsoka was saying that she wasn't there to help him when he needed it, but she was here now to help him, to save him. And what did he say, "Then you will die!"

She had left him. He had pleaded for her to stay. But she wouldn't, not even for him. He felt betrayed. Where was she when he had visions of Padme dying when the council wouldn't grant him the rank of master when he had to choose between Palpatine, or Mace? Where was she when he had murdered all the Jedi in the Temple?  Where was she when he was left to burn and die on Mustafar? He had needed her and she had left. His sadness had turned to anger. To rage.

Did anybody else realize this or is your mind blown right now?  Or am I just an idiot and never realized that?
