Bib FortunaBib Fortuna

Bib Fortuna was born in Ryloth.

Even with some Twi'lek loot on his head, the notorious Bib Fortuna would soon get an interesting offer. Tatooine gangster Jabba the Hutt wanted to get into the spice trading business and have Bib Fortuna work for him in his production and as a shipping agent. Jabba's people would have managed the distribution, but it was the Twi'lek's job to carry the spice.

Jabba was a demanding boss who killed anyone who made a mistake - very few in the higher levels of Jabba's hierarchy lived long enough - but Fortuna was cunning and would never let him down. However, the Empire began to intercept the shipments of spice, and Jabba grew angry.

Fortuna knew that if he stayed in that job, he would soon be dead, so he asked for a more senior position in Jabba's organization. Surprisingly, the Hutt agreed, making the Twi'lek one of his lieutenants. Jabba used them to help conduct his business, and to bow to him, Fortuna didn't mind bowing his head, it was just a job after all.

Fortuna eventually exacted revenge on his home planet, heading there accompanied by slaver ships. In his short stay on the planet, he found the last descendant of a Twi'lek noble house, so he took the child, Nat Secura, knowing that when he finally returns to his planet again, to conquer it, Nat's bloodline would support with ease the "transition". When Bib Fortuna left Ryloth, along with Nat, seven cities lay in ruins, their citizens taken as slaves.

Jabba was impressed by Fortuna's skills in administration and organization, and the Twi'lek was promoted to the inner circle of whom Jabba chose few. Fortuna ambitiously planned to take the position of butler to the old Naroon Cuthus, but someone else was vying for that position, the Corellian smuggler Bidlo Kwerve, Jabba knew that one of them would triumph over the other, and he would have the new butler from him.

Fortuna outsmarted Kwerve, as the two presented Jabba with his gift, a monstrous giant known as a rancor. While those present were watching the creature, Fortuna convinced them that his competitor would be the rancor's first sandwich.

From then on, Fortuna was almost always by Jabba's side, helping him with his decisions, but he knew that when the Hutt least expected it, he would take complete control of him.

On another trip to Ryloth, Fortuna captured Oola, the daughter of a clan chieftain. The young and beautiful Twi'lek was a seductive dancer, so he took her to her smugglers' compound. He later introduced her to Jabba. The Hutt was amazed at her gift, but the dancer refused to dance, but Fortuna made her change her mind accompanied by two Gamorrean guards. Little by little Fortuna would witness his fall, two androids arrived at the Palace, gifts from a man he claimed to be a Jedi Knight. Later, the bounty hunter Boushh arrived to obtain the loot for the captive Chewbacca, Han Solo's Wookiee sidekick. Boussh was not a bounty hunter, but a woman trying to rescue Solo, who was frozen in carbonite.

The final display came when Jedi Luke Skywalker showed up, using a mind trick on Fortuna, forcing him to allow the young man entrance. In the court room, and before the eyes of the creatures that were there, Luke threatened Jabba with his destruction if he did not let his friends go free. Jabba fed the rancor to the young Jedi, only to watch in horror as Luke slaughtered his prized beast.

Jabba was furious, and ordered the execution of Solo, Skywalker, and Chewbacca in the Great Pit of Carkoon, to be devoured by the sarlacc, but Jabba had underestimated the Rebels, who had infiltrated the palace in greater numbers than expected. what I had thought. When Skywalker initiated the escape attempt on him, Fortuna ran to his personal ship, hidden nearby. He then made his way to Jabba's palace where he met the B'omarr Monks, who later, in order to allow him to become a member of his sect, the monks removed Fortuna's brain and placed it in a container filled with nutrients. Betrothed to his senses, Fortuna could contemplate the meaning of his existence. Eventually, the Twi'lek managed to have his brain implanted in the body of another of his kind named Firith Olan, thus taking control of Jabba the Hutt's criminal empire.
