Community News: CPM bonuses nerfed…tipping to augment bonuses. Friday’s on SWT are now Pay days! 💵
👋 Hello SWT Community, we’ve got some more news to share with everyone about the earning system. The BBS development team has reduced the CPM payout for Partnered users to $5. That’s down significantly from where it was variable, but upwards of $50. That means publishing bonuses are going to be a lot smaller than they have been. Community Pool tipping To make up for the lowered CPM, BBS expects board Owners/Admins to use the Community Tipping pool to compensate publishers. Partners will still receive engagement based CPM bonuses on all their posts, but now OC ⭐️ posts by partnered and non-partnered will be compensated with one or more tips from the Community pool. Now content can be rewarded and not users, which means any user can earn cashable revenue on their very first post and any post after as long as it meets the criteria to be an OC⭐️ post. “Payday” Fridays In order to make compensating publishers easier for us Admins, and more fair to the users, Fridays will now be Payday at SWT.com. Every Friday OC⭐️ posts published in the past week will receive a tip as compensation from the Community tipping pool. Paying publishers once a week will allow Admins to know how much revenue was generated in the last week and therefore how we can distribute to the week’s OC⭐️ publishers. Unfortunately there’s absolutely no way around having to subjectively judge posts to determine the amount to compensate short of paying all publishers a flat rate for OC⭐️ posts. A flat rate would be far less fair than judging a post on its merits and would only encourage users to do the bare minimum needed for a post to be considered OC⭐️. Publishers should be compensated for their effort but also for the Community reaction and engagement. Paying out just once per week will also give posts time to get reactions so that can be a consideration when paying out so it’s not just completely subjective. It also seems there’s enough revenue coming in to raise the PoW prize to $20. That will go into effect next week, this week’s prize will still be $5. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below.🙏

Community News: SWT on Probation!😱 PoW cash prize!💰 Non-partners now earn 💵 for their OC posts!
We’ve got some important news to share with the SWT.com Community so we would really appreciate it if everyone took a minute to read this post. 🙏 SWT.com obviously needs more users to visit the board but more importantly, we desperately need the users that do visit regularly to engage in some way. Any way… Last week, the 6th quarter of Engagement Mining (EM) ended. For those that don’t know the EM program is where the 💰 for Partnered users’ publishing bonuses comes from. Each BBS board must maintain a minimum average number of Daily Active Members to be approved for EM funding for the next quarter (3 months). When this quarter ended this board failed to maintain the minimum average of 20 Daily Active Members. Fortunately Eyal and the MetaBBS Admin team see the value in our organic community and put us on probation instead of removing us from the EM program for this quarter. We have the next couple months to try to reinvigorate the community and get back up to at least 20 Daily Active Members or we will be removed from the EM program next quarter and lose the ability for publishers to earn entirely. Hopefully it isn’t too late but we Admins at SWT.com now have a new tool to help motivate publishers. We have access to, and the ability to tip users from, a Community Tipping Pool. Engagement revenue from non-Partnered users’ posts goes into a Community fund now, not to Theory’s profile like it has.🤬 We can now use money which is earned by the community to reward and incentivize users to publish more content. If we can use this Tipping Pool to incentivize users to publish more posts everyday (both OC⭐️ and non-OC) we can do 2 things: We can incentivize users who don’t publish to visit the board everyday to view and engage in those posts. We can also keep EM 💰 flowing into the Community tipping pool to (now) compensate non-partnered users for their OC⭐️ posts and provide cash prizes for Post of the Week (and other Community contests we come up with) incentivizing users, both Partnered and non-Partnered, to publish more often. Finally, we have added a cash prize to the Post of the Week contest. Each week the winning Post of the Week will receive a cashable $5.00 prize in the form of a Supercomment left on the post. The PoW contest is open to all users, partnered and non-partnered, and since all Original content publishers are now compensated for their work we should have a lot of participation once people learn about it. We’re open to ideas from the community for contests and competitions we could create to incentivize users and give back to the community. Keep in mind any contests should be designed to get users to make posts, not to leave a comment in a singular post. With that in mind, if you do have any ideas for a contest, or any other way we might give back to the community that incentivizes publishing, make a post explaining your idea and you’ll be rewarded.😉 If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. If you have a lot to say on any of this post, make a post of your own to discuss it.😉 Remember, we need all the posts we can get!

Did Grogu’s new pram fly under the radar!? Why I think we may be in for a surprise reveal! 🤯
Did you happen to notice they transitioned Grogu to a new pram? You may have, but thought nothing of it because nothing was made of it. I always think it’s odd when they make a change like that but make no mention of it in the show and it causes me to ponder why. The reason for this could absolutely be that’s there’s nothing special about it, but it could also mean that they are trying to keep it under the radar for a future dramatic reveal. I don’t believe they omit or include things for no reason, and I do like to speculate, so I found some things that could suggest the pram may be more than it appears. 🤔 Did you notice that the light on Grogu’s pram is exactly the same size, color, and strength as the one on Din’s helmet? Im sure this isn’t because production got a discount for buying multiple lights, if you catch my meaning. It’s clearly because it’s the same Mandalorian tech, made by the same Mandalorian Armorer. If you rewatch the scene where the enter the mines it’s really obvious that they have exactly the same light. I always wondered what happened to the rest of the Beskar Spear, if you remember only the spear point was used to craft Grogu’s chain mail. Surely there was enough left of the spear for the Armorer to create a protective shell for the new pram and to donate some for the foundlings as is the way. I believe the Armorer created Grogu’s new pram at the same time she forged his chain mail and I think there’s good reason to think this. In the first episode of this season we are shown a foundling being ‘baptized’ into the Creed. As soon as he accepts the Creed he dons a helmet as all others before him. The helmet is the first armor adopted by all Mandalorians but Grogu only got chain mail……… or did he? 🤔 Did it strike you as odd that Grogu was scared when they were being attacked, but never shut his pram? I think that’s going to be a big reveal, possibly in the very next episode entitled “The Foundling”. When we finally see him close the pram, we will see that it’s actually a version of a helmet made specifically for him. When he shuts it, I think we will see the visor “T” present on all Mando helmets. 🤔 Hope this doesn’t spoil anything for you. 🙏 Thanks for looking and let me know what you think in the comments.

A closer look is very telling 🤔… what I noticed rewatching the Mando parts of Ep.3 ‼️ 😱
If you’re like me, you probably have many questions about the Living Waters. In my mind one of the most interesting is how the Armorer has dealt with not having access a steady supply of the Living Waters to quench newly forged Mandalorian armor pieces in, and how it has effected the Covert members. Some of us in the community have already speculated on this. Well, while rewatching the 2 Mando parts of Ep. 3, I just noticed something very telling about the state of the Covert and the Armorer’s ability to provide/make new armor for them. 🤔 When Bo and Din land at the Covert and Paz walks out to meet them he is flanked by a handful of Mandos (presumably they are the Covert’s first line of defense if they are coming out first). As you can clearly see in the pic above those Mando’s are wearing Stormtrooper armor! 😱 Three Mandos are shown in this pic alone relying on scavenged Stormtrooper armor to complete their sets. They aren’t the only ones either. There are many things we can infer from seeing Mando’s wearing Stormtrooper armor, one of them being they aren’t as strong as they appear and the contributions of Beskar and Living Waters Din has made to the Covert is going to make them much, much stronger than they are now. Soon those Stormtrooper pieces may be replaced with newly forged Beskar pieces. We can also definitively say that there’s a shortage of proper armor for all the Mando’s, and that it seems priority is placed on building the ranks (the kid taking the Creed) rather that outfitting each member completely with a full set of Beskar or those Mando’s wouldn’t be wearing Stormtrooper armor that offers little to no protection by comparison. Now, whether this is because of Living Waters, Beskar, or both being scarce remains to be seen, but either way the Covert is on a big come up all thanks to Din….. and that’s going to come with a lot of well deserved respect. So, what do you think about the Mando’s wearing Stormtrooper armor? Will we get to see the Armorer hard at work crafting new armor? As always, thanks for looking and let everyone know what you think in the comments. 🙏

Did you notice the Clan Fett crest in the first episode? What can we infer from seeing it here?
If you didn’t notice, prominently displayed at the very front of the procession of Mando’s, directly beside the symbol of the Mandalorian people itself, the Mythosaur skull, was a flag with the Clan Fett sigil on it. What possible implications could this have moving forward? The first thing we can assume with certainty is that Clan Fett is a part of the Children of the Watch. Which would mean that Boba, if he wants to be involved in Mandalorian politics and a member of his clan, would be considered a Child of the Watch too. This could present a problem for Boba since he hasn’t adopted the creed and he removes his helmet. The next thing we can assume is that Boba has family….. I think it’s more than reasonable to assume that the female Mandalorian carrying the Fett banner is probably a Fett or Mereel (descendant of Jaster) herself and a possible relation to Boba. As crazy as it sounds, for all we know, that Mandalorian female could be Omega…! 😱😉 Finally, I think the position of the banner in the procession has some significance in itself. We might infer from the banner being up front that it could denote a position of leadership, as if Clan Fett is the head of the Children of the Watch. Or, perhaps it means the foundling being indoctrinated into the creed is from Clan Fett. Either way one thing I can say, and I’m not implying anything by this (though there’s always a possibility…), the kid adopting the creed looks a bit like Daniel Logan’s young Boba. Angry face and all… 🤔 So, do you think the foundling is a Fett, the Fett Clan leads the Children of the Watch, and/or the Fett banner being up from has no significance other than the Fett Clan is part of this faction? Who do you think the female Mando is…? Is she a Fett… or maybe a descendant of Jaster Mereel? As always, thanks for looking. 🙏

🛑Possible Major Spoiler🛑 The TIE interceptor chase in Mando 3 may not be what we expect!😱
I do feel there a strong possibility that this theory could be how it actually plays out on screen, so if you don’t want to have a potential surprise ruined before you see it you may want to skip this post. By now I think we’ve all seen the sequence of the Mandalorian fighter being chased by a squadron of TIE interceptors. I also think that most folks (including myself initially) just take it at face value that inside those TIEs are going to be Imperial pilots. I actually think we’ve been given strong clues to think otherwise. 🤔 A few months ago we got some leaked images of Bo and Axe Woves having some kind of altercation. It was reported, along with the pics, that a rift would develop in the Nite Owls. Bo confirmed this for us when she explains to Din how she’s lost their support when she didn’t return with the Darksaber. It’s the next exchange in that scene between Bo and Din that got me thinking…. Din asks Bo, “What about Gideon’s cruiser?”. To which Bo replies, “they took the fleet and are using it to raid systems in the outer rim”. Gideon had a rather substantial light cruiser which could hold (according to Wookie) 3 TIE variants and 2 Lambda shuttles. From this, I think we can now reasonably assume that Axe Woves and the Nite Owls have some TIE fighters at their disposal, and if the dispute between Bo and Axe had escalated, it could very well be those Nite Owls who are chasing Bo in her Mandalorian fighter. Especially after they learn that Bo is joining forces with Din and not planning to challenge him for the Darksababer. The implications of this could mean that the renegade Nite Owls and the fleet they’ve commandeered could actually be this season’s antagonist.🤔 So, do you think it’s Bo’s former faction mates that are trying to kill her with commandeered TIE interceptors? As always thanks for looking. 🙏

I think Cid just give up the Bad Batch to the Empire….. and the real point of “Entombed”.
The episodes of season 2 have seemed a bit disjointed, but looking at them in retrospect I think I can see a series of events that would lead to the conclusion that Cid planned to turn the BB over to the Empire since the Entombed episode with Phee Genoa. It would only make sense that Cid would be one of the first people to know that the Empire had put a bounty on the Batch. She would also be in the position to keep that information from the Batch as she is their only contact in the galaxy as a whole that isn’t in hiding. If there was a bounty on them, and she’s the only person that knows where they are, why wouldn’t she turn them over. After all the Batch was warned that Cid is untrustworthy by her former associate at the swoop bike race. Now let’s look at the series of events leading up to this. The Batch is seen going after Dooku’s War Chest, and it’s reported to Rampart who dismisses it. I think he did this so he could have bounty hunters go after them and to prevent other clones from looking to them as an example to revolt or go AWOL. Cid gets the bounty, along with all the other brokers like her, and starts to devise a plan to turn them over. She knows they are elite so she has to be very careful…. She sets up the mission to Recover the Heart of the Mountain (which we all agree seemed absolutely pointless and a huge risk with no payoff) which gets Phee on board the Marauder. While on the Marauder Phee has access to the ship and ensures she’s able to get into it in the future. Cid then sets up the Batch to go to HER “newly acquired” mine where the Marauder is stolen (very easily) by a single person that fits Phee’s build. I would expect the Empire to show up to retrieve the stranded Batch in the next episode. So what do you all think? Is Cid and Phee responsible for the theft of the Marauder. Will we see the Empire show up in the next episode? As always, thanks for checking this out. 🙏

Have we seen this clone assassin somewhere before….. and where was Crosshair?
If there’s one thing about clones that most always holds true it’s that’s they consider themselves all brothers. Because they consider themselves brothers it’s a rarity that we ever see them turn on each other with murderous intent. In almost every case of that it’s because of Order 66… with a few exceptions. That’s obviously not the case with the clone assassin we saw in episode 7, he’s clearly operating on his own free will as he claims to be a “believer”. So who is this clone and what is this belief that would make him murder his brothers? As I said, there are a few exceptions where we have seen clones acting against their brothers with murderous intent. One is Commander Fox who seems to have more than a few clone kills. It’s highly probable Fox was privy to Order 66, or at least the chips, because he killed Fives after he learned of the chip implanted in Tupp. He could have easily stunned Fives, but Fox’ intent was to prevent him from alerting the rest of the clones to the chip he discovered. Obviously, Fox is too important as the Coruscant Clone Commander to be this assassin. The other example we’ve seen of a clone turning on his brothers is way back in the Clone Wars. There was a clone named Slick that was sympathetic to the CIS. He “believed” the Jedi were corrupt, and were using the clones to fight the worlds that wanted to break free of Republic oppression. Slick fed Republic information directly to Assaj Ventress and Count Dooku and helped set up an ambush that nearly killed Obi-Wan and Anakin. Slick was ultimately captured by Rex and Cody and his fate was never revealed. Could this assassin be Slick, and what other “work” has he done for the Empire, and for how long? In addition, seeing the assassin this week the first thing I asked myself was “where’s Crosshair, this is usually his job?” Could it be that Crosshair didn’t do the job because he has gone AWOL? We have been shown a lot of scenes where Crosshair looks sullen and alone while being surrounded by his clone brothers. It’s pretty obvious they don’t consider CH as one of them. I think all signs have been pointing to CH going AWOL and Cody leaving was what pushed him to finally go. All the clones respect Cody, and I think him leaving said a lot to CH and given we didn’t actually see Cody go AWOL, I think it’s a possibility they won’t show Crosshair leaving as well. What do you all think? Is Slick the assassin, and has Crosshair gone AWOL? As always, thanks for taking a look. 🙏

What color is the Armorer’s cuirass (armor breast plate)?
It seems all folks aren’t in agreement about the color of the Armorer’s cuirass. That color could be very telling of the Armorer’s history and may indicate that she had/has certain loyalties which could lend itself to being a strong plot point for the upcoming season. So what color do you think the Armorer’s cuirass is? How does Din’s first season armor compare to it? 🤔 Look at the difference in the wear and color of Din’s armor after just a few episodes into season 1…

Version 4.1 - Engagement Mining Update & Moderation Activity
Welcome back BBSers to an exciting update! Version 4.1 is here bringing us multiple new updates: - Engagement Mining Rewards Update - Updated Score Formula - Dynamic CPM - Rewards Page Updated - Moderation Activity Log - Ban/Hide explanation - Mobile App Banner Alongside this release we're also excited to announce the public Beta test of the BBS Network mobile app on both Android and iOS! Check out the announcement here: https://bbs.market/METABBS/posts/8r72qdnrGJHkKCzjN1Z3 Engagement Mining Rewards Update Included in 4.1 is an update to the Engagement Mining program. As discussed in previous announcements, as BBS Network evolves so must the Engagement Mining program. The purpose of the Engagement Mining program is, and has been, to fuel the initial growth of the BBS Network. As such, these updates to the program are designed to better reward organic board growth and activity over the previous iteration. Instead of scoring boards based on a rolling average of impressions - boards will now be scored by their average Daily Active Users combined with their Growth Factor. Boards that bring more organic users to the BBS Network and show community growth will receive a higher proportion of the daily rewards. Rewards Formula Score = DAU(d) + GF(d) DAU = 28 day moving average of daily active users GF = AvgDAU(1d) - AvgDAU(28d ago) With this formula, boards that are seeing community growth will receive extra rewards proportionally - while placing the emphasis on how many active users a board can bring to the network instead of how many impressions they generate. In order to find the total rewards for a board, the board Score is multiplied by both the base CPM ($50/1000) and the network average of impressions per user. Rewards = Score * AvgImpression * BaseCPM Dynamic CPM With this formula used to find the total board rewards, there is also a Dynamic CPM being implemented for each board which will be calculated daily. The CPM calculated each day will take into account the number of impressions a community generates in a day along with the total amount of rewards it receives. CPM* = Rewards / BoardImpressions*1000 *CPM capped at $70 This means that the CPM for a board will be based on the board's score and their average impression per user compared to the defined network average. With this formula, communities are incentivized to ensure board activity is organic and discourages inflating user activity. Organic board activity will lead to a higher CPM, while inflated activity will reduce the board's CPM. Please note that with these formulas the total amount of rewards a board received will not be affected by the CPM given - only the amount distributed per impression will change, except in the case of a board reaching the maximum $70 CPM. In a future update, upon a board reaching the maximum CPM, any excess amount rewarded over the maximum will be distributed to the community team with manual distribution encouraged. Overall, the total value of tokens distributed in the network should remain roughly the same as prior to the update. Rewards Page To reflect these changes, we have also implemented an update to the Rewards page. The Rewards page now shows new metrics, including the Daily Active Users, Publishers/Commenters, and a 90d graph of the rolling average of Daily Active Users. Please note that this new model for Engagement Mining needs to be tested in a live environment in order to ensure stability. There may be bugs found initially that will be addressed with future updates. Any bugs discovered can be reported here on METABBS with details. To ensure there’s enough data from the new model to draw upon, Transition 5 of the Engagement Mining program will be temporarily delayed and will come with an updated criteria for Engagement Mining approval. Moderation Activity Log Another addition of 4.1 is the Moderation Activity Log. Within the Activity tab of the board, a "Moderation" subsection can now be found for board owners and moderators. The Moderation log will show any moderator action taken, such as a ban, hiding a post, etc., along with the reason the moderator has given for the action. Moderators will now be prompted for a reason when hiding a post or banning a user, which will be displayed in the activity log. Mobile App Banner A small graphic has been added to the web application of BBS Network - directing users towards the BBS Network mobile application. The mobile app is currently released in Beta on both Android and iOS, so if you haven't checked it out yet make sure to give it a try!

Some speculation about Din’s new allies, the Armorer, and Bo-Katan after seeing the final trailer.
Well, after being teased with bootleg recordings of The Mandalorian season 3 trailer ( from SW Celebration waaay back in September 🤬) we paupers finally got to see it and IMO, it doesn’t disappoint. For me it also raises some questions I’d like to speculate about. Questions like, “Who are the other Mandalorians shown with Din?”, “How does he know them, and how did he gain their support so quickly?”, “How many Mandalorians are actually left in the galaxy?”, “What do those Mando’s think of Bo-Katan?”, and I have more. You all probably have questions of your own too. Obviously we don’t know the answers yet, but I think we can deduce a few from what we saw in the trailer. 🤔 Let’s start with the new Mando’s we see that look like they have Din’s back. How does he know them? I think we’ve been shown all the Mando’s that Din knows in the first 2 seasons, (The Armorer, Paz Viszla, Boba, Bo-Katan, Kaska, and Axe) and we know he spent a long time with the Twi’Lek twins and the Devaronian (from the first season), so I don’t think he knows any more than what we’ve been shown. I also don’t think he really knew any of the Mando’s, from the covert on Navarro, because we don’t learn Paz Viszla’s name until the second season. Before that he’s just the “Heavy”. My guess is Din doesn’t actually know any of them, that it’s the Armorer that has rallied them to Din. If the Armorer is the only Mandalorian armorer (wouldn’t she kinda have to be if her name is “The Armorer”?) then it would make sense she would be obliged to service ALL Mando’s that she deems “Mandalorian” by her standards. That would make her the one Mandalorian that would havecontact with more Mando’s than any other, and the perfect one to spread the word about Din’s quest to reach the Living Water’s in the mines of Mandalore. After all she’s the one that directed him there and she didn’t try to take the Darksaber from him (which she easily could have). This also makes me wonder about Bo-Katan’s (and the Nite Owls’) relationship with the Armorer. Obviously they know of each other, as the Armorer tells Din “Bo-Katan is a cautionary tale” and the Armorer probably doesn’t consider Bo a true Mandalorian either given she removes her helmet. That’s not even taking into consideration what happened when Bo lost the Darksaber, the old wounds from the Deathwatch split, and how the Armorer feels about all that. I bet the Armorer has every desire to make sure Din succeeds and unites the Mando’s, and not Bo-Katan. I would also guess the Mando’s we see backing up Din in the trailer feel the same as the Armorer and have been waiting for someone worthy, and indisputably deserving of leading them. I would bet Din besting Paz Viszla has a greater significance to the other Mando’s than we know right now. 🤔 All these pics made me notice that there’s a definitive difference between male and female Mandalorian Helmets which I think is unique to Dave, as we didn’t see that in Legends imagery of all female Mando’s. It’s pretty obvious but I wonder how many others noticed. Here’s some pics of other female Mando’s for example. And it looks like there might be a few new lady Mando’s for Din to meet… he doesn’t have to settle for “bitter” Bo. 😉🤣 What do you all think of the speculation, do you have different thoughts about who those Mando’s are and how Din knows them? Have any other speculation, or questions like mine? Let everybody know in the comments. As always, thanks for looking. 🙏

Instructions how to comment pics and gifs
The ability to comment pics and gifs came in an update some months ago but no one could actually get it to work when it was first released. Most users forgot about it (including myself). Out of sight, out of mind. FF a few months and I notice that a few of the users on metaBBS have started commenting pics and gifs so I figured someone figured out how to successfully do it. I tracked down the info on metaBBS and am bringing it to you guys in the hopes it boosts engagement and makes commenting more fun. All I ask in return is that everyone keeps it Star Wars and relevant to what you’re commenting on. Just please don’t spam pics and gifs because you’re bored and do keep in mind we are a discussion site. Let’s not let images and gifs become the majority of comments. 🙏 That being said, comments are super good for the site score so….. 😉 In order for pics and gifs to work in BBS, the source needs to be in BBS. Meaning you have to import whatever image of gif you find into BBS before you can copy the link to it in a comment. The best way to do this is through a hidden post in your profile. If you already have a hidden one of your own posts use that. If you don’t, you’ll want to create a post then immediately hide it. Once you’ve hidden the post, use the edit menu to go into it so you don’t have to un-hide and hide the post. Un-hiding and hiding a post will cause it to appear and disappear in the main post feed. We don’t want this happening every time someone wants to comment a gif! Please use the edit menu to enter hidden posts! You’ll want to have the image/gif copied to your clipboard, or saved in your files before entering the edit menu. Once inside the post, right click and paste the image or use the editing tools to import the image from your saved files. Now you can save the post and re-enter (using the edit menu😉) to copy the image/gif to your clipboard again. (Now the image/gif source is on BBS, in your hidden post not google or your saved files.) Unless you made changes you don’t need to save this time, you can hit cancel as you only went in to copy the image. Once you’ve gone back into your post and copied the image/gif you want to use, you can move to the post you want to comment on. (BTW, as a general rule, gifs and pics that work in posts will work in comments.) Type in the comment bar. The image/gif you want to show will now appear after you hit send. You can have text before and/or after the link if you want. Now you should be able to comment images and gifs! Feel free to practice, or ask for assistance, in the comments below. Otherwise, let’s keep it relevant and Star Wars. 😉

Could the cost of the volume be the reason behind some of the issues with Star Wars content?
In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon Giancarlo Espisito (Moff Gideon) talks about John Favreau introducing him to “the Volume”, the innovative filming studio created specifically for the Mandalorian. With the success of the first season of the Mandalorian, the Volume has become an invaluable tool in the creation of most new Star Wars projects. (Albeit with some drawbacks like claustrophobic feeling scenes that should be epic in scale on paper. There are also scenes that lack depth making it very obvious you are looking at a backdrop. Notably the city scene on Alderaan in Kenobi.) Giancarlo tells Jimmy, "Jon Favreau, who called me and said ‘You wanna be a part of the show” I have good news and bad news. ‘Tell me the good news first’ [I said]. ‘The good news is I wrote a role for you of Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian‘; ‘Oh, what’s that?’ He said, ‘It’s a new Star Wars show that I’m doing’. So I said, ‘Oh, ok, tell me the bad news.’ He said, ‘The bad news is all the money is going into The Volume’ He goes on to say that he nearly rejected the pay just to become part of the project. "And I said to him, ‘Jon, I wanna work with people I like. That’s the bottom line.’ I did not want to say, I came very close to saying ‘I will do it for free’. But I loved it that much." This last statement of his makes me wonder how many other people took less money 😱 to be included in those projects that were first to use the Volume. And because they took less money, did these people feel like they were entitled to more liberty on set, or with their schedules? For example, perhaps the reason Pedro took a brief hiatus from the Mandalorian, to film The Last of Us, was because he too also took a significant pay cut to be involved in SW content that uses the Volume. A pay cut so significant, in conjunction with a new series that had yet to be green lighted for a next season, would give any intelligent person ample cause to search out and accept new projects. Hence, Pedro taking a role in The Last of Us and delaying the filming of Mando season 3. Could this also explain why it seemed like Robert Rodriguez was more hyped about playing guitar with Tem than he was about taking the job seriously by honoring legacy characters and locations? After all, it did look like RR and Tem were having a better time making music than they were making SW in the BoBF BTS content. We know about the issues Tem had with Boba’s dialogue, my guess is those guys had less arguments when playing music so they probly played a lot of music. 😉 I think these are probably past issues now that the Mandalorian has seen such success. Revenue from the Mandalorian S1 & 2 has probably paid for the Volume and future hired talent will probably not be subjected having to work at a discount. If it is the case that many know actors and directors took less money to work on the first season of the Mandalorian, there’s a lot of talented people that deserve our praise for their time and effort. 🙏 So if Giancarlo took less money to be in the Mandalorian, do you think others did as well? Did taking less money make some of them feel like they could take more liberty, or do you think it had no bearing at all? As always, thanks for looking. 🙏 Let everyone know your thoughts in the comments.

What’s your favorite Star Wars sound effect? (Poll: Most iconic SW sound effect.)
Ben Burtt created many sound effects that are completely unique to Star Wars. Many of those sound effects have become iconic in their own right, and instantly recognizable to Star Wars fans of all ages. The methods and samples he used to create these effects were sometimes just as revolutionary as the visual effects, made at ILM, that his many of his sounds would ultimately be mated to. George demanded a completely brand new and unique set of effects for Star Wars which challenged Burtt to search for obscure sounds like tapping high tension lines with a metal wrench to get blaster fire. Demonstrated below. So, out of all the unique Star Wars sound effects from Han’s DL-44 to Slave 1’s Siesmic charge, the AT-AT walking and firing to the clunky hyperdrive in the Falcon, E-11 blaster fire to lightsaber hum, or Imperial Speeder bikes to pod racer engines…. What’s your personal favorite Star Wars Sound effect? Or if you can’t decide how about a list of your top 5? There are so many unique methods Burtt used to make Star Wars sound effects I could go on for days listing them here. If you know how your personal favorite was created, include it in your comment for everyone else. My favorite has to be a toss up between lightsaber ignition and the TIE fighter flyby. With a little more favor to the TIE which incidentally is a synthesized elephant roar. I’m also a big fan of Slave 1’s cannons and the Seismic charge. And I happen to do a spot on Chewbacca. 😉 Thanks for looking and let everyone know your favorites in the comments.

The Bad Batch Season 2 is here! Please be courteous when creating posts that may contain spoilers.🙏
Hopefully the new season of The Bad Batch provides inspiration for some great theories, speculation, reviews, and opinions here. While there is no need to wait before posting your thoughts after new episodes, we do ask that if your post contains any spoilers you use some kind of spacer to push the text down far enough that it isn’t visible on the main post feed. Please also be sure to assign the Spoiler Flair to your post if it’s published within the first 24hrs after new content airs. This way people that want to discuss the new content immediately can, and those that have yet to see it won’t have it ruined (even though you shouldn’t be poking around a Star Wars discussion site if you are trying to avoid spoilers. 🤔😉) This is an example of how to space text down a post… ^^^ ^^Just use some symbols or emoji as spacers.

The Bendu taught Kanan how to be come one with the Force through the “Middle”.
In Season 6 of the Clone Wars Yoda learns that, despite incomplete training, Qui-Gon Jin has been able to retain his consciousness after his death at the hands of Maul. He tells Yoda that he has also been chosen to revive the same instruction and leads him to the Force Priestesses. The FP’s tell Yoda that in order to retain his consciousness after death, and become one with the Living Force, he must find balance. Yoda responds, “A Jedi Master, I am.” Meaning, he believes he has already achieved balance within himself. This is the hubris of the Jedi Order and one of the major flaws in its doctrine. Yoda believes that because he dwells completely in the light he has purged himself of the dark. Yoda it taught that Darkness resides in ALL living things, including himself, and to deny that it does gives it power. This is how the Jedi’s participation in the Clone Wars fed the Dark side, strengthening Palpatine, and why their ability to see into the Force was blinded by the Darkness they were creating themselves. They were denying that darkness existed within them all, because of their own teachings. He learns the path to balance is to accept the darkness within himself instead of deny it, which allows him to become the master of it. Once Yoda is able to Master the Darkness within himself, he achieves balance, and when he dies he will retain his consciousness and become a part of the Living Force as a Force ghost. While recovering on Atollon from being blinded by Maul, Kanan is summoned though the Force while meditating. He is guided to the source of that summons by none other than Morai. When he reaches the source he meets the Bendu, the one in the middle. The Bendu tells him he can teach Kanan how to see with Force but he must be “empty”. Through the lesson of the spiders, Kanan learned the darkness he sensed around them was not actually emanating from them, but it was his own Fear, Grief, and Anger that was attracting them. The Bendu showed Kanan that the way he feels effects everything around him and prevents him from seeing things as they truly are in the Force. Presumably the Fear that Kanan had was the fear of losing Hera, Ezra, and the other crew members like he lost his Master and the Jedi. The Grief would obviously be for the loss of those just mentioned, and the Anger for not being able to do more about it, or take revenge. When Kanan is able to let go of these emotions and empty himself, he is not only able to see all living things for what they are through the Force, but he he has also achieved the natural state of balance that plants and animals have by being devoid of ego and emotion. He is in the Middle. Because Yoda learned to be the Master of his emotions he achieved balance on the Scales of Light and Dark sides which applies to sentient beings. This allows him to retain his sentient consciousness within the Living Force and appear as he looked in life. A Force Ghost. Because Kanan learns to empty himself of all emotion and ego and just exist like plants and animals he achieves the state of balance that is the “Middle” or nature. This is why Kanan returns as the Dume lothwolf and not in human form, he becomes a force ghost of the natural world. A Spirit Animal. In both cases Yoda and Kanan are chosen, and summoned, to learn these lessons. Yoda is taught the lesson so that he will be able to guide Luke Skywalker and Kanan so he can guide Ezra to the World Between Worlds, both from behind the grave. Having these two live beyond death is critical to preserve the Light. It’s also very interesting that Maul is directly involved in each story.🤔 This also makes me consider the possibility that Morai was also once a sentient being that learned the path to the Middle and became a “Spirit Animal” and the Mortis representative of the Middle. As always, thanks for looking and let me know what you think in the comments and hit the 👍. 🙏

Otherwise poll posts fall under the Community flair⭐️ Original Content “OC” (yellow) - The content within the post that the community will be reacting to is created solely by you, the publisher. (Using copy/pasted content to support or illustrate your content is fine.) Original Content ⭐️ is the content most desired by this community and the only content type that will earn a user Partnership (see below). Original Content includes but isn’t limited to subjects like Theories, Speculation, Fan fictions, publisher created art, publisher created videos, content or game reviews, and generally all editorial posts. If you have other areas of Star Wars interest 🙏 feel free to share them with the community. ‼️ Any type of Star Wars post will be considered OC ⭐️ if it has a minimum amount of publisher created content (from your brain) and has community engagement as the goal. (getting people to react/respond with comments) A minimum of a paragraph (3/4 sentences) is necessary to convey your thoughts effectively and in a way that gives users enough content to respond to. ✏️ Fan Fics / What ifs…? (ochre yellow) A separate category for the numerous works of fiction. Considered Original Content and rewardable if Partnered through CPM bonuses based on their engagement. Please note: non-partnered users will not be compensated for their fan fics with cashable tips because ff’s historically don’t inspire engagement from the community. However, because it is content solely created by the BBS publisher it will be considered for Partnership.⚠️Linked News or Video (green)- Linked articles and videos must be credited to the original source. Linked content will not be considered Original Content unless it contains the required amount of BBS publisher created content (see Original Content🤔 for info). 🌎 Community (blue)- Simple questions for the community, talk about Theory/Nerd Theory, any found content shared with the community w/out the needed content to be OC⭐️, and any announcement posts. As all content, Community posts must be Star Wars oriented 🧠 Moderation (pink)- Information/update posts from the site Admins or user questions/suggestions for the Admins. ❄️ Credited Fan Art (light blue)- Fan art is allowed, the original artist must be credited. (Shared art and other content can be considered OC⭐️ if it has the required amount of BBS publisher created content. 🤔) 🚨 Spoilers (red)- Posts that may spoil new content for users. Once the spoiler period is over (generally 24 hours post release) publishers may edit the assigned Flair of spoiler posts to Original Content. 💰Publisher compensation/earnings: Partnership: Becoming a Partner (of the board Owner) means you have been recognized as being in the top tier of contributors to the board in both published Original Content and engagement in other user’s content. When a user becomes a Partner they then have the ability to earn cashable ad revenue from the engagement generated by their posts through automated CPM bonuses on all their published posts, forever. Until you become a Partner any ad revenue generated by your posts goes into the board’s Community funds and will be used to fund the tipping pool and contest prizes like Post of the Week. That being said it’s not difficult to become a Partner, it just takes a little consistency with publishing OC⭐️ posts and genuine engagement with the community. An OC post or two for “X” amount of weeks… “X” - depending on post quality is really all we’re looking for. 🤔 It should also be mentioned that if a Partner’s content drifts away from Original Content, ceases publishing altogether, or their engagement on the board dramatically slows, or stops, their partnership can be revoked. 👀Non-Partners: All non-partnered publishers of OC⭐️ posts will now be compensated with a cashable tip through a Supercomment from the Community Admins. The amount of the tip will be subjective and based on the content, engagement generated by, and quality of the post. Cashable earnings can be used to tip other publishers and can be converted to BBS tokens. There will absolutely be more ways to spend your earnings coming soon so get posting! If you have questions, please feel free to ask them.

The Bendu. What it means to be “in the middle” of the Force.
As puzzling as he is powerful, the Bendu is another Force Wielder like the Father, Son, and Daughter of Mortis. Like the others, he is the embodiment of the Force aspect he represents, “the Middle”. However, the aspect he represents isn’t as plainly conveyed as those of the other force wielders. We know the Father, the Son, and the Daughter are the embodiments of the Balance, Dark, and Light sides of the Force, respectively. The Bendu tells us he’s “in the Middle”. So what does he mean by the Middle? Isn’t it balance that comes to mind when we think of being in the middle of Light and Dark? But the Father represents Balance between the Light and Dark so in this case the Middle can’t mean Balance. It must be another aspect of the Force…. Obi-Wan told us in ANH that the Force is an energy field created by all living things, and that it surrounds us and binds us all together. In that statement lies the clue to understanding what the “Middle” is and that clue is that the force is in “ALL” living things. The force doesn’t just reside in all sentient beings, it also resides in all living plants and animals in the natural world. The scale of balance of the Light and Dark sides of the Force only applies to sentient beings that make conscious decisions based on their own ego. Their desires are either selfless, or selfish. Light or Dark. Whereas plants and animals, in most all cases being not sentient, have no sense of ego to influence their decisions so are neither Light nor Dark. Their ‘decisions’ are made out of necessity and survival, are free of ego, and therefore don’t fall on the scale of Balance. Predatory animals viciously kill without mercy for their survival, but can also be the most gentle and caring parents at the same time. Animals kill but aren’t evil. Being nurturing parents doesn’t make them good. Plants can contain compounds that kill, or compounds that can heal. They can choke the life from other plants in the struggle for light, and they can nourish other life with their fruit and nutrient value. Plants can give life but they aren’t good, they can poison but aren’t evil. Even weather itself can be mercilessly destructive and deadly, or it can be nurturing and life giving. The natural living world, devoid of ego, IS the Middle the Bendu represents. Even the Bendu’s appearance is representative of the natural world. When Kanan approaches the Bendu he appears to be an indistinguishable part of the natural scene. His back is seemingly made from the surrounding environment, or of something that closely resembles it. His head and face looks Simian, Bovine, and Bovidae (goat) all together, he has a torso that looks like a turtle shell, and his lower legs and tail seem reptilian. His body is a conglomeration of living things and the environment; a living representation of the natural world. The Middle of the Force. I want to add, when the Bendu decided to help the Ghost crew he took the form of a powerful storm and the Ghost crew was in nearly as much danger from him as was the Empire forces. Even more representation of the natural world and it’s indifference. I’ve been wanting to do this one for a while, I hope you all enjoy it…
