The darksaber was created by a mandalorian that was inducted into the Jedi order. It's a unique lightsaber with a strange hilt, but also a black blade. 

I don't know kyber crystals well. I know that dark side users, however, can change the color of the blade if they make it 'bleed.' 

I know Maul would never change the color of this blade because of the symbolisation it represented on Mandalore, but I can't help but wonder how Maul felt about wielding the darksaber for its blade color. Red was always his color. Red symbolized his power in the dark side. This black blade (although unique) was still created, wielded, and represented by a Jedi, not a Sith.

Do you think Maul actually cared about the blade color of the darksaber or was its symbolism to the Mandalorians (and thus his ultimate control over the planet) enough to make him not care?
