It's a well know fact that the Battle of Naboo hinges on a Queen, a Gungan, two Jedi, & a nine-year-old boy. But the newsnets package the truth for easy consumption, omitting the accolades belonging to a thuggish space pirate from Lok. Nym the pirate captain was a Feeorin, one of the last of his breed. Orphaned at an early age on the mean streets of Lok, he joined up with the pirate crews who hung around the landing pits. After earning respect as a pilot, mechanic, & hand-to-hand combatant, Nym gathered his own crew & practiced piracy along the heavily trafficked hyperlanes between the Core Worlds. Five years before the Battle of Naboo, Nym & his crew pulled off the daring heist of a prototype Scurrg H-6 bomber from a storage silo on Nubia. A Bith engineer modified the vessel far beyond its original specs, &-newly christened the Havoc-the starfighter became Nym's personal raider, ripping up the opposition with its experimental bomblet generators.

Nym returned to Lok & built a stronghold there. For years his pirate crew harassed Trade Federation shipment up & down the Rimma & the Corellian Trade Spine. When Nym made off with a cache of secret weaponry, the Trade Federation hired mercenary Vana Sage to capture him. Not realizing Sage's true intentions, Nym used the mercenary as a go-between when he tries to sell the weaponry. He wound up in the brig of a Trade Federation freighter. His loyal crew rescued him before the torturers could arrive, & he returned to Lok, but a vengeful Trade Federation-testing its new war equipment just prior to the invasion of Naboo-pounded his Lok base to powder with AATs, MTTs, & droid starfighters. Nym barely made it out alive. Afire with hatred for his persecutors, he joined forces with two unlikely partners. The first was Naboo starfighter pilot Rhys Dallows. The other was Vana Sage, betrayed by the Trade Federation & thirsting for her own brand of revenge. Nym & his allies hit Trade Federation targets like a cyclone, finally taking then fight to Naboo itself. In the Havoc, he helped destroy one arm of the battle droid army. With the Trade Federation's flanking forces decimated, the Gungans survived long enough for Anakin Skywalker to destroy the Droid Control Ship. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine pardoned Nym for his past crimes. The ex-pirate took a job with a Republic Special Task Force, advising its own pirate-fighting patrols.
