Obi Wan and Satine Fanfiction part 4: Into the forest

“No” Obi-Wan answered “I didn’t know what to do, he knew what he was hitting when he talked about the death of my master, then hurting you. I don’t know what I would have done if you had d-” Obi Wan paused, he couldn’t finish.

“I’m okay’’ Satine said “you did everything you could have and I am safe” she hugged him trying to help him, but she knew she wasn’t going to fix everything. Obi Wan held her tightly with his eyes shut. She was safe, she was right there.

“I know I could have done more”

“What could you have done?” She asked

“I could have saved you from being  force choked and thrown at the wall”

“That was out of your control”

“I know I could have stopped it” He let go of Satine

“I’m alright though.”

“But what if he did kill you?”

“That didn’t happen,” she replied, hoping to push away the question.

“It could've,” he said. His eyes started tearing up.

“Ben” She said and hugged him tightly “Everything is going to be alright”

“This was all my fault.” Obi Wan said, staring at the ground.

“What do you mean?” She was genuinely confused.

“Maul wanted me to suffer, because of our fight on Naboo which ended in him being cut in half. This was something you should never have been involved in.”  He released Satine and put his head in his hands. She had never seen Obi Wan like this, it surprised and hurt her. She hugged him.

“I love you,” She said. He looked surprised as he put his head up.

“I love you too,” he replied.

Satine could hear his breathing even out and she was grateful he was calming down.

Draboon

“Duchess wait!” yelled Obi Wan. Duchess Satine Kryze froze as a big trandoshan bounty hunter jumped out.

“Obi!”  she yelled as the trandoshan grabbed her. Obi Wan ran to save her lightsaber in hand.

“Let her go!” he yelled.

“I’m ssso afraid of the little Jedi, '' the bounty hunter said mockingly.

“Let her go!” Obi Wan said darkly.

“No” Obi Wan attacked. He jumped up and brought his lightsaber down. The trandoshan slid to the side, shooting at him. The trandoshan put a blaster to Satine’s head.

“Move another sssstep and she diesss!” he yelled.

‘Where was Qui-Gon?!?!’ Obi Wan thought. Obi Wan had a pained expression, he wanted Satine to be safe, but he also just wanted to fight the bounty hunter to get Satine back. So he just stood there. Waiting, hoping his master would come.

“Thatsss what I thought.”

Satine looked braver than Obi Wan thought she would.

“You’ll fail” Satine said to the bounty hunter.

“I’ve never had an incomplete mission.”

“Oh really? Who believes that?” she replied. The trandoshan hit her in the face with the blaster.

“I still don’t regret saying that just so you know.”

“You will!” he said. He was really angry now. He shot her in the arm. She yelled trying to suppress the pain.

“Stop please!” Obi Wan yelled. Just then Qui-Gon jumped behind the bounty hunter kicking his back. The bounty hunter turned around looking shocked. Qui-Gon ignited his lightsaber, hitting away the blaster. Obi Wan darted to catch Satine as the bounty hunter dropped her.

Qui-Gon fought the bounty hunter until the trandoshan made a wrong move and tripped off a cliff nearby. Qui-Gon quickly scanned the area ensuring that there were no other bounty hunters or ships. He began to run back to where he had left Obi-Wan and Satine.

“Are you okay?!?!” Obi Wan asked, looking extremely concerned.

“Just my arm, but otherwise I am fine.” She replied, as she stood up.

“Duchess! Are you alright?” Qui-Gon asked, as he ran back to where they were.

“I just got shot in the arm”

“Obi- Wan take care of the Duchess, I want to check the area and mare sure no bounty hunters are still roaming about.”

“Yes master,” Obi Wan replied as Qui-Gon ran into the forest.

Obi Wan pulled a bacta patch out of his bag.

“I don’t need a bacta patch.” Satine said.

“Please don’t fight me right now I’not letting you bleed to death”

“Why do I need one? I’ll heal anyways, I’m fine”

“Because it will heal faster and I need to stop the bleeding, alright?”

“Fine” She hated to admit she was beaten, especially by Obi-Wan, but honestly right now she didn’t care that much, to her surprise. Obi Wan cleaned it and carefully put the bacta patch on.

“Does that feel better?” he asked

“Yes thank you, but you don’t have to treat me like a helpless child.”

“I’m sorry, you're right.” he replied. Finally she won something.

“Are we going back to camp?” She asked.

“Yes I’ll just clean up then we’ll head back.”

Qui-Gon walked through the forest, using the force to guide him; he hadn’t found any bounty hunters yet. He had been walking for about 15 minutes when he hit a metal trapdoor. He looked down at it. He bent down to brush the dirt off as he pulled it open climbing in.

‘It's awfully cold tonight.”

“Yes I am afraid it is.” Obi Wan replied as he started a fire.

“Where is Qui-Gon? It’s getting dark and he is starting to worry me.”

“I’m sure he’s fine, probably just being extra cautious.”

“About what?”

“Bounty hunters”

“We defeated the trandoshan, I think we’re fine, don’t they only work alone anyways?”

“Most of the time yes but-” He was interrupted by Qui-Gon walking into camp looking surprised and something Obi Wan couldn’t pinpoint. Was it relief?

“Padawan, you won’t believe what I have just stumbled upon.”
