We’ve got some important news to share with the SWT.com Community so we would really appreciate it if everyone took a minute to read this post. 🙏 SWT.com obviously needs more users to visit the board but more importantly, we desperately need the users that do visit regularly to engage in some way. Any way…
Last week, the 6th quarter of Engagement Mining (EM) ended. For those that don’t know the EM program is where the 💰 for Partnered users’ publishing bonuses comes from. Each BBS board must maintain a minimum average number of Daily Active Members to be approved for EM funding for the next quarter (3 months).
When this quarter ended this board failed to maintain the minimum average of 20 Daily Active Members. Fortunately Eyal and the MetaBBS Admin team see the value in our organic community and put us on probation instead of removing us from the EM program for this quarter. We have the next couple months to try to reinvigorate the community and get back up to at least 20 Daily Active Members or we will be removed from the EM program next quarter and lose the ability for publishers to earn entirely.
Hopefully it isn’t too late but we Admins at SWT.com now have a new tool to help motivate publishers. We have access to, and the ability to tip users from, a Community Tipping Pool. Engagement revenue from non-Partnered users’ posts goes into a Community fund now, not to Theory’s profile like it has.🤬 We can now use money which is earned by the community to reward and incentivize users to publish more content.
If we can use this Tipping Pool to incentivize users to publish more posts everyday (both OC⭐️ and non-OC) we can do 2 things: We can incentivize users who don’t publish to visit the board everyday to view and engage in those posts. We can also keep EM 💰 flowing into the Community tipping pool to (now) compensate non-partnered users for their OC⭐️ posts and provide cash prizes for Post of the Week (and other Community contests we come up with) incentivizing users, both Partnered and non-Partnered, to publish more often.
Finally, we have added a cash prize to the Post of the Week contest. Each week the winning Post of the Week will receive a cashable $5.00 prize in the form of a Supercomment left on the post. The PoW contest is open to all users, partnered and non-partnered, and since all Original content publishers are now compensated for their work we should have a lot of participation once people learn about it.
We’re open to ideas from the community for contests and competitions we could create to incentivize users and give back to the community. Keep in mind any contests should be designed to get users to make posts, not to leave a comment in a singular post. With that in mind, if you do have any ideas for a contest, or any other way we might give back to the community that incentivizes publishing, make a post explaining your idea and you’ll be rewarded.😉
If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. If you have a lot to say on any of this post, make a post of your own to discuss it.😉 Remember, we need all the posts we can get!
