Alright… before we begin this potentially touchy subject, I just want to say that I’m not picking any sides here. I’m just telling you what I see from looking in from the outside. There is no bias. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s begin this post. So as you know, engagement and activity levels on this site have dropped immensely. If you have been paying any attention to the live chat over the past couple of days, you will see that Poops, Solo and the other mods have been telling us that the site has dropped from its usual high place on the site ladder to 16th. That is not good. We can do better than this. I am going to provide some reasons that I have seen as to why there has been this major drop in engagement, and then I am going to provide you with some potential fixes to these problems. Speaking of engagement, with this post, I would like you to fill out the poll, react to it in some way or another, and leave a comment. Any comment is a good comment. Just engage.

Here is a list of possible reasons as to why there has been a drop in engagement for the site: 1. Lack of motivation This is something that has been overlooked a little bit. We’ve all spoken about producing good quality posts that people can enjoy, react to, and even relate to. But what we haven’t spoken about is that motivational factor. When people post good quality content, it motivates other users to make the same quality content. In some occasions, it can even encourage them to one-up the post that inspired them. We need motivation of this site is going to survive. 2. Lack of content Most people on here come to engage in the posts… but they can’t do so if there are no posts to engage with. Sure, there are maybe two or three posts per day, but they are all from three or maybe four users. I can’t really tell you all to post more because I haven’t posted in two or three months, but I have tests and exams and the all-around horrors of Grade 10 to deal with. But what I can say is that looking around the site these past few weeks, it’s been very empty. More people are engaging in the live chat than with the posts… and even that dries up for days at a time. So for both new and veteran users… just post more. 3. Lack of users I remember this time last year, this site had about 3 times the amount of regularly active users roaming its digital surface. That number has dropped exponentially, with more users leaving and not coming back than there are new users. We really need to get new users on here to bump up this site’s ratings. That’s really all I have to say on this matter. SOLUTIONS The solutions for these problems are pretty simple. Make more higher quality posts so that they motivate others to make the same quality posts. Just make more posts… chuck a couple of polls in there to bump up the engagement levels. Get your friends, family… even make an account for your dog or something so that we can get more users. Whenever you’re at a gathering, tell people about our site. Get new users on here anyway you can. And for all the old veterans that have left us… come back to us. We need you more than ever now. Come back. Alright. I hope you’ve taken something out of this little pep talk of ours. Make sure you react to this post, leave a comment, and react to this poll. Let’s aim to get back into the top 10 by August. We should be able to do it if we all pitch in and do our part. Anyway, enough from me. Go out and do your thing ✌️
