By the Force, this show better be good. By the Force, this show better be good.

I was a little disappointed by the way The Book of Boba Fett ended, so I'm nervous about how the Obi-Wan Kenobi show will do. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to watch it. One of the things I do every time a new show rolls around is to write down what I want in the show so that I will still have something to be happy about if the show doesn't meet my (or others') expectations. As part of this "contingency plan" of mine, I would be very glad to hear what you guys are looking forward to seeing in the show.

Here's what I think is likely going to happen--or should happen--in the Kenobi series:

1. A duel between Obi-Wan and A'Sharad Hett.

I posted about wanting this to happen a long time ago, but it's still what I want to see in the show the most. If they bring this story over from Legends, then they could set up for a Legacy story several years after the sequel trilogy, so they could continue the story outside the confines of those movies.

2. Obi-Wan looking out for Luke.

This is the most likely thing that I'm expecting to see in the show, since this was established to be happening between ROTS and ANH. I see this plot point being more of a side storyline and not the focus of the series, since it really doesn't allow for a whole lot of storytelling. However, it might be more significant than I am expecting and bind Kenobi to Tatooine, keeping the series from taking place off that planet (as far as Kenobi's side of the story is concerned that is).

3. Vader and the Inquisitors hunting for Kenobi.

I think that this would be a good way for the writers to show adventures away from Tatooine. The way that I interpret this is that Vader will be hunting for Kenobi because there was never any confirmation that he died, and the emperor will send the Grand Inquisitor and maybe a few others to aid Vader while at the same time keeping him from using Kenobi to rebel against him. What I mean by this is an event similar to one that was in the 2017 Darth Vader comics, when Vader visits Kenobi in a vision and makes amends, but then agreeing to help him destroy Palpatine.

4. Kenobi's interactions with the natives of Tatooine.

By the time of ANH, Kenobi is apparently feared by the Tuskens since he was able to scare them away from Luke. Also at that time, he was seen as something of a mad hermit by the civilians, including Luke's uncle Owen. I think it would be interesting to see him cross paths with the Tuskens and then fend them off in some way. Maybe he could even encounter moisture farmers or people from Mos Eisley and give them the impression that he is on some errand or religious pilgrimage to Tatooine but doesn't want to be disturbed in the process. I think it would be cool to see Kenobi run into a Krayt dragon appear in the show, if nothing else then to give Hett some basis for choosing Krayt as his Sith name in the future.

5. Kenobi learning new aspects of the Force from Qui-Gon Jinn.

I haven't read the Kenobi novel by John Jackson Miller, but I think this was one of the main details of its story. Seeing him learn how to achieve immortality through the Force makes sense to have occurred during this era.

6. A fight between Vader and Kenobi.

Obviously these two can't fight in person since it would violate the canon, so it would have to be in one of their minds. I first heard this as a rumor from Doomcock, but I think it's been verified by other sources since. Here's one way I can imagine this playing out: at different places in the galaxy, Vader and Kenobi both meditate at the same time. Vader is restored to perfect health as he had before Mustafar (so Hayden Christiansen could play Anakin Skywalker of course), and they have a vicious fight between the two of them. Kenobi wins, and he prepares to kill Anakin as he had planned to on Mustafar, but he decides against this for two reasons: 1) since he allowed his apprentice to fall to the dark side, he blames himself for all that has happened to him following Mustafar, and 2) Qui-Gon joins their meditation and warns that the time for Anakin to fulfill his destiny as the Chosen One has not yet arrived, and they leave the meditation.

These are all the things I can think of off the top of my head, but they are all very interesting in my opinion. Prewriting is only something I started a little while ago, so I'm still getting used to it, but from what I do have I have avoided a lot of disappointment due to the fact that I still have something to remember in a positive light from shows and movies that have not gone the way I wanted them to. Anyway, what are your hopes and theories about this show and what do you think of my predictions?
