In Chapter 3 of The Book of Boba Fett, we saw a swoop bike gang with flashy and shining swoop bikes; a stark contrast from the beige, white, and brown themes of the rest of Tatooine. This similarity to other franchises, among other things, has led to backlash.

But what if this contrast was intentional with an explanation in canon? I think that this is likely.

In The Book of Boba Fett, there is a theme between the wealthy appearance of the Hutts or other crime lords, who are physically weak but symbolically strong, and Boba, who is physically strong but lacks grandeur. I think the swoop gang is in between these two extremes.

They are clearly not very wealthy; they don't come off as pro-droid perfection freaks, yet seem to be unable to afford more cleanly attached cybernetics (like Luke's Hand). However, their skills are most likely decent. To come off as richer than they are (otherwise they would go after spice or more valuable resources, instead of water despite being on Tatooine).

The people of Tatooine likely have never seen much of other planets; by having the look of coming from the underground of Nar Shadaa or even Coruscant, they might create an air of "wow, these guys traveled from a faraway planet just to come to Tatooine, so they must be rich and have some very important interest here."

Because the gang is now under Boba's service, they could teach him ways of mixing his strength with grandeur. In addition to Boba's likely riding of the Rancor for transportation, Boba could modify his armor to seem more regal like Din Djarin's and not old and scratched, use his jetpack more, or travel with a larger entourage.

Therefore, careful writing and planning could bring the swoop gang closer to the center of importance instead of facing widespread backlash.
