We all know the meme, Obi-won shouting “my allegiance is to the republic, to democracy!” But the Republic was not actually upholding those values anymore. The war they were fighting was doing the exact opposite, because they didn’t respect those who wanted to stay neutral. Instead of respecting their democratic vote, the Republic would force planets to choose a side, and neutral was treated the same as choosing the Separatists, essentially. So because the Separatists were fighting for their right(to party), and especially because the Republic was no longer really fighting for Democracy, shouldn’t Obi-won had been a Separatist? What are your thoughts?
