Should we Even be Excited for the New Han Solo Movie? (New Poster Revealed) -Star Wars Explained
There has been a mixed reaction to Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, to the point where some people are saying that Disney has actually killed the Star Wars franchise. That may be going too far of course, but some fans do have some genuine concerns as to the future of the saga. Of course, we all have different tastes. Take the sequels for example. You hear a lot of vocal fans saying they absolutely hated them, whereas others love them to bits. There are many arguments flying around as to why this is. Is it a generational thing? Is it down to being a movie purist who doesn’t like digital effects? For some, maybe, but I think in the main, it’s simply a mater of taste. You either like something, or you don’t. Take religion or pizza for example.
Now, I can’t talk for other people, but I have mixed feelings towards the raft of new Star Wars movies we have been given over the last couple of years. I love Rogue One, but I’m not too keen on The Force Awakens and the jury is still out on The Last Jedi, but again, this is down to my personal preference, not, I think, to what Disney has been giving us.

I have high hopes for Solo and here’s why: I think that for many of us, what we like to see in a Star Wars movie is familiarity. Original characters and environments have become dear to us. Think about seeing Darth Vader on the big screen for the first time in years in Rogue One. In the sequels, we are introduced to new characters and shown unfamiliar environments. Not many old species where shown either. To many of us, the movies just didn’t feel like Star Wars. Solo: A Star Wars Story is going to contain characters we love in (hopefully) environments we are familiar with. I think those facts alone will give the movie a leg up over the sequels and put it on a par with Rogue One. Of course, time will tell, but I want this movie to be a success and I’m not ready to shoot it down before I’ve even seen it. I know I’m putting things a little simply here, but I explain further in the video below.
