How Luke Found Ahch-To and the First Jedi Temple (CANON) – Star Wars The Last Jedi Explained
While reading the book, I came across a section called “Jedi Artefacts” that included images of equipment in the Luke Skywalker chapter. It reads as follows:
“Luke’s search for Jedi lore led to him uncovering many relics, which he collected and brought with him to Ahch-To. Key to finding the island itself was studying the spread of uneti saplings, a rare type of tree that is sensitive in it’s own way, to the Force”.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this type of tree in the Star Wars universe. They have appeared in the new canon comics on a few occasions and also The Clone Wars TV series: most notably The Great Tree, an ancient, force sensitive tree that spent it’s life growing in the courtyard of the Jedi temple on Coruscant and used in the training of Jedi younglings.
After the Great Jedi Purge following Order 66, the Jedi temple was turned into the Imperial Palace and the Force tree was removed. Pieces of the tree were kept and stored in a secret Imperial facility, but later recovered by Luke Skywalker. One such piece was given to Poe Dameron’s parents who planted the shard near their home on Yavin 4. As an after thought, could this have something to do with Poe Dameron’s lightning fast, Force-like piloting abilities?
Check out the Star Wars Theory video below where I continue the tree’s story in much more detail and reveal how Luke found Ahch-To and the First Jedi Temple…
