Who Will be the Actors Leading Star Wars’ Next Chapters?
With so many anthology films planned in the upcoming years, plus the announcement of Rian Johnson’s new trilogy, and of course J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars Episode IX; there are many new and even old characters whose shoes need to be filled for these projects.
Lucasfilms has always needed to ride a fine line when casting for the Star Wars films, either they are recasting a character we know and love, or a brand new character that we need to get to know and eventually love. As we saw with the first trilogy, it is possible to build a legendary story on the backs of only a small group of strong characters, portrayed by great actors.
The next stop in the Star Wars franchise, after The Last Jedi, is the Han Solo anthology film. The casting of Donald Glover as a young Lando has gotten many excited to witness his performance, while on the other hand, there are many fans who do not agree with the casting of Alden Ehrenreich as the title character. At this point in their production, all we can do is keep a close eye on the footage they will inevitably release, and make more concrete judgments from that.
In this week’s newest addition to the CHATTER SQUADRON podcast, Tyler, Jonny and Mike, offer up different suggestions on casting for new films, and even re-castings of the films we love. They also take a look at the history of how actors like Harrison Ford, Ray Park and Daisy Ridley made it to the silver screen! Remember, you can listen to CHATTER SQUADRON every Tuesday, and all their previous episodes right now!
